      Kiasu2017:

      Hi,

      Would appreciate some advise.
My DD is registering this year for next year's P1. We are deliberating between Radin Mas Primary and Tao Nan. We live within 1km of RMPS, but one of us is an alumni of TNS. We are keen to get into RMPS because of proximity, but the balloting history of RMPS is really not in our favour.
      Thanks

You should have been kiasu in 2015, not 2017. It is too late now to try to get into RMPS via PV. So you can only try in Phase 2C.

      The options would be:
      1. Phase 2A2 - Tao Nan (would be too late to sign up for alumni association now)
      2. Phase 2C - Radin Mas

Option 1 would probably be safe and option 2 would involve a high risk ballot exercise. Probably makes more sense to be in control and avoid balloting.

Chief kiasu, We were rejected as PV; maybe that’s a sign.

Floppy, we are still alumni of tns. Signed up years ago just in case.

          hi, need some advise…

          we live within:
          1km of Pei Chun
1 to 2km of Kheng Cheng

which would be a safer choice?

              Hi,

Anyone here who is keen to register your child to Maha Bodhi - P1? Need some advise if any of you did use your parents address to register your child as is < 1km. Will it get a higher chance? Any historical results shown in Maha Bodhi of how many vacancy for phrase 2B or 2C? Please feel free to share your thoughts. 🙂

Hi NiceJS, the stats for Maha Bodhi can be found here: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/geylang

Btw do note that if using grandparents' address, even if <1km, child will be in the distance category of 1-2km.
Criteria also very strict...let me find the link for u...

I'm assuming you are in the wrong thread. You probably won't be able to complete PV in time for 2016 registration.

                      Need some advice.....

Staying at sengkang, nearest school around are Fernvale and sk green , both are within 500m. Hoping to enrol to sk green but looking at the balloting history it is very stressful and the chances is like 50/50. Although birth rate for the year of tiger is lower but is still hard to judge as there are too many new Pr/ foreign residents.

Another way is to enrol for affiliated school under phrase 2B , but it is at bishan/amk. Always traffic congestion along the way and my kid has to wake up much earlier compared going to a nearby school. But if I dun try to enrol for phrase 2b and fail to enrol to sk green, which means will fall under 2Cs or go to Fernvale. I only prefer to go sk green instead.... shd I take go for phrase 2b which means my kid has less time to rest and more traveling time or should I just take the risk to ballot??? Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones....

We are SC, does it means we stand a higher chances and first priority will goes to us first instead of PR?

                      Headache... please advise

While there is much angst against the so called \"withdrawal-method\", the pragmatic thing to do is to register in your affiliated school in Phase 2B first and then monitor SK Green's take-up rate by Phase 2C to decide if you wish to gamble for a place in SK Green.

Being a new school SK Green has been oversubscribed since 2013 and you will probably be looking at odds of 2 for 1 place in Phase 2C even if you are staying <1km. The good news is that Fernvale is available for those in Phase 2C, but it is indeed getting popular recently so you should probably go for Fernvale in Phase 2C since there will likely be balloting in Phase 2C(S) for Fernvale.

And yes, SC has \"absolute priority\" over PRs.
