      Hi Mummies,

May I know how is the books vendor for IJ TP please ?
Do you face problems buying books every year ? How is the quality of the school uniform ?

In the 4 years that my son has been in school, I've encountered problems buying his textbooks (no stock for subject files and some textbooks). Worse thing is these cannot be purchased from Popular.
      Hi Janet,

Book vendor - Pacific Book Pte Ltd. We had no problems getting the books for the past 2 yrs. You are advised to preorder so that it'll be quicker when you pick them up. Last year, I was out of town for a long time and they called me to confirm that I still wanted the books. When I went there on the last day of book purchase, my boxed order was still waiting for me.

Uniform - quality is ok. No complaints.

        Hi Guppy,

        Thanks for your reply 🙂
Pacific Book seems to be reliable vendor.

            Hi,

My gal was into fencing during her IJ primary school days for the last 2 years. She’s Sec 1 now and has selected bowling as cca instead. Anyone whose daughter has chosen fencing as CCA and is interested to buy the equipments from me, do let me know… It’s in veri good condition and it’s a waste to leave it in the store.

            regards,

            vvjj

It's hard to generalise...the girls I've met come from relatively good backgrounds so they're well-spoken, confident and polite. Maybe abit too talkative

They are not particularly showy, although many of them have well-off parents and could be.

                Hi beanstalk,

A friend who used to be my ex-classmate in IJ TP told me that there is a social behaviour. Her daughter is in Pri 5.

I remember those days when some of my classmates had parents who were lawyers or else holding high posts...they were quite friendly but had their own 'group' of friends. For my daughter, I don't know why I am checking out the environment/culture of the school b4 I register her...am I too protective or what ?

What do you mean by social behavior?

Yes, there are many girls whose parents are lawyers, doctors but as far as I know, the girls don’t pick their friends on that basis!

I think the girls are too young to bother about such things.

It helps too that simplicity is still emphasised (no expensive bags or stationery, no phones), so there is less opportunity for comparison.

They do tend to congregrate based on the class they are in, and since streaming is done from P3, they may appear to be segregrating. But I’m sure this happens in other schools too.

                  Don’t worry la…

I asked my friend to explain 'social behaviour' but she didn't go into detail but just hope my daughter will enjoy the time in IJ. Thanks for your assurance.

                      Hi Mummies,

Can you advise what titles of Chinese assessment books do you get for your gals ? I'm KIASU 😉 and with Popular having 20% discount, thought of getting some first.

                        Hi Mummies,

Are you aware that CHIJ TP will be going to single session next year ?
