hi, may i know how long in advance should i book my hotel? we are going to tokyo in october & will be doing free & easy, i was looking through expedia, booking.com, agoda, hotels.com & not sure if i should start booking the hotel now.

can anyone advise me please? thanks!
Should book now if you want to get your choice hotels or room types & probably cheaper rates. So far, I booked with hotels directly & they give free cancellation up to 2 or 3 days before arrival. Expedia also provide free cancellation but in the end I didn't proceed with them as I didn't want to get charged for costs that I'm not notified of when checking out.

You can try 2 months in advance (i.e Aug)
If you need additional help in booking the hotels, pls let me know via pm, i might be able to secure better deals. 😃

Agree. Book early for choice accommodation. But get the website or hotel that allow cancellation up to 7 days before travel. Then after that keep looking for better deals and switch if something better comes up. If wait until too late. Then good ones all gone. Cheap but no good also no use.

            Hi all,

I am planning for a year end trip to Kyushu. Doing free and easy. Wondering if I should self drive, or take their JR or do a combination of both. Anyone has an itinerary or feedback to share?

            Thanks all in advance!

And also wishing one and all Happy New Year! 新年快乐! 😄

              Hi everyone

              I need your advice.

Has anyone booked airtics for Sin-Tokyo and Sapporo-Sin? I’m looking at 8-20 Dec this year. For my 3A2C, it’s $3.3k

ANA has a gd promo now but I am wondering if the prices will be better after mid yr, or shall I go ahead and book it now?

              Thks

                      hi

I did a rough calcln comparing the transport cost via JR pass or individual tickets, it seems individual tics are cheaper but when I googled other forums, all said buy JR pass. Would like to seek advice here (not sure if I calculated the individual fare correctly).

Cost of JR Pass (7 days) ~ $336
But I am just going to use it for JR rails like:
                      Narita Express->TKO->OSK->KYO->Nara->KYO->OSK->TKO (cost approx. $250+)
I exclude JR buses and limited JR subways for simplicity

Does it look right that I should not buy the JR pass?

                        I think you calculated wrongly…

From Tokyo to Osaka via Shinkansen, it`s already 13620 yen.
                        Multiply x 2=27240 yen.

                        Narita Express is 3000 yen.

                        JR pass is 29110 yen…
