I have got it done. Went 3 banks today. Banked in small amount cheque but withdraw more in cash. Banked into UOB one act then another to SCB FD 6mth. Remembered the wrong amount so insufficient for HSBC fresh fund. Luckily there is a SCB nearby. So managed to get all done in slightly more than an hour. UOB may have a lot of leftover red packets or they are always so generous. I got 10 packets from UOB I couldn't help but let go my 'whoa' quite loudly 😂

The best 6mth offer is still scb?

I should think so. Coz hsbc p rate is 30k min 1.7% for 6 mths and I managed to get 25k 1.75% for 6 mths. Have you deposited?

Lee_yl, it is with SCB. I kept thinking the hsbc rate is for 25k so not enough cash on hand as hsbc is last stop. Not a fan of abalone…right now prefer to go for One and 360 first. Not enough bullet la.

Banks dangle higher fixed deposit rates

                    http://www.straitstimes.com/business/ba ... osit-rates

Promotional interest rates offered by banks for fixed deposits are inching closer to the 2 per cent mark, a tantalising prospect for customers keen to kick off Chinese New Year by locking in higher rates.
