Today everyone thinks can wear their jc uniform. Who knows have to wear sec uniform.

Those JAE students’ parents are very very happy. Imagine 5 yrs ago their kids could not qualify for RI and RGS, now the same cohort meet up again. St Nicks have abt 55 of them. The rest are from neighbourhood sec sch. Those are top students with 7 distinctions. Very impressive.

What is the engineering calculator for y5 model no? It is so expensive $182. Any cheaper source from online? Any other place to buy?

Some variant of TI-84. The Silver Edition is being sold in school for $168, I think. I don't know if the sale is over. I recall my daughter telling me about it, but she is going to inherit her sister's. The agent at Bras Basah Complex may offer a better price than $182? If you post on this board or elsewhere, there may be 2nd hand ones available as students not pursuing science/enginnering-type courses won't need them any more. They can revert to using more \"plain vanilla\" calculators like the ones used at O level.

DD did not wear RI uniform today, still wearing St Nick Pinafore.

Didn't know there are 55 St Nicks girls joining yr 5. How many JAE student did RI take in this year? 300+??

Will the JAE students fit into the RI culture quickly?

And how competitive are they generally? If they are very much so, how do the RI/RGS students react towards them, esp in the beginning of Year 5?

DS got into RI through JAE (waiting for A level results) while DD was from RGS and now in year 5. From my observations, whether one enters RI through JAE or IP bears little to no significance.

Competitiveness? Sure have, but I’ll say it is good, friendly competition.

                  Shynn,
Congrats to u to have both kids studying at RI.
I think that is the purpose of OG and they spend 4 days together. Hopefully they all get 'A' for their A level project work by end of this year. CCA starts today. starting today, they all wear same RI uniform regardless JAE/RI/RGS.

They don't have problem fitting in. Year in year out they have about 250-350 JAE students. Never any issue. Same for all JAE students in other JC.

31 cedar girls from the o level class.

These parents solute them. At sec 3, they had the option to transfer to their own IP programme. But they chose to wait for o level results. And 31 of them qualified for R1. Very impressive.
