Is oral now included in HMT O lvl exam?

Yup, the students will watch a video then give a verbal report based on the points raised in the video. Thereafter, there will be a discussion based on the topic in the video. Here's the link to the syllabus:

Does the watch video and then give report also apply to non-HMT Chinese oral? My dd does not qualify to take HMT, so she is taking the normal Chinese ... She asked me to help her get some guide books for Sec 1 Chinese Oral, and I am totally lost. This is so new to me.

Ok I'm very late. I'm personally only a Sec 1 HCL student so I basically only know till around P6 HCL stuff(the year just started). Though I got many wrong, I could understand every single word used. I think it's not really hard(at least understandable) but still requires a lot of thinking(like a lot)

There's a reading aloud segment PLUS a conversation segment based on a video clip. If you want more details, there's an oral guide book selling in popular for O lvl MT exams that might give you a better idea.

Think it will be difficult. Not graphic stimulus type. But I did get some for 实用文. New format for 2016. There is a few of them

Ya, apparently nope. Only one oral guide book for MT level. Hope publishers can come up guide books for HMT soon.

Think it's slightly different format from HMT. There's a reading aloud segment PLUS a conversation segment based on a video clip. If you want more details, there's an oral guide book selling in popular for O lvl MT exams that might give you a better idea.[/quote]

Hi! The exam dates are the same as Sec 4 pupils taking their O Levels. I'm not sure why you're not asking your sch's teachers since they should have access to the info but you can retrieve info from the seab website.
