Sometimes is shy. My ex-maid didn't enjoy eating with us also - she rather cram in the kitchen.

But then, I also dun like to eat with her...see her play with the food....I feel that the food not tasty also. (She was very worried about her weight and would avoid large helpings if she can get away with it - you should see how she can wayang one stalk of kangkong for 10 min). There were a couple of times when I got fed up with her that I scooped super large helpings of the dishes onto her plate.

Sigh....now feel very stupid. If she dunwan to eat, I should accomodate her wishes.

Actually this should have been resolved BEFORE she step into your house. On their biodata, it should be highlighted if they are not going to handle pork even - nobody ask her to taste it. Your family's diet should not be restricted by her.

So if she only take beef and lamb how? A lot of chinese I know don't take it....then all eat vegetarian arh.
My previous Indonesian Maids doesn't take pork and they also avoid handling pork. Despite us buying pork every week but they simply left it in the refrigerator until it spoilt. No matter how we reprimand them, they simply refuse to cook the pork. And we have been HALAL since the period the maids were with us.

I have never trust the Biodata, it is fake. My friend told me that the Biodata was actually completed by their local Maid Agency.

Understand that biodatas on many times are not truly reflective. But hey, if they say they willing to handle pork on the first day I meet them, they better do.

Think my agent does a pretty good job setting the ground rules (when I picked up the current maid, I was stuck there listening to her go on for 15 min while she told the maid what to expect and what to do).

Some maids don't feel comfortable to eat with her employer. But she is happy to eat and chat with my sisters' maids when we go back to my mum's house on weekends.

haiya, you ladies are SO nice! Mine also doesn’t eat at our table. She eats in the kitchen or in the yard. And I like it that way. Either we eat first or she will take her own share aside first.

when we go out, we order our own food first so that she can take care of the kids whilst we eat. When I am done, I ask her what she’d like and I order it for her. Then it’s my turn to look after the kids while she eats.

I think it is a good system. I don’t think it is being disrespectful or mean to them. This is WORK.

I will change the maid if she din follow my instruction 😉
Is true that the Biodata is completed by the local maid agency. To my understanding is after they have interviewed the maid.

My first maid was listed as Skin \"Fair\"...when she came, there was no way in the world anyone would classify her as fair.

oh. and she listed some cooking skills....ummmm, I honestly think she can't even cook instant noodles. See her stir the pot....you would think she was making kaya.

I don't think she can do sunnyside up....she tried once to cook an egg dish....it was very odd (the look and taste)....and after that, we never asked her. And this was months after she understudied my dad.
