I think the interview and the performance of the child during the "game" or group activity segment played an important role. They had that segment when DS2 did his DSA. They are not only looking for good academic results. Granted, performing well in the academic segment is important but behavior, attitude and performance during the activity segment and the interview was very important too. Not sure if they still have that now. The teachers of the school told me in one PTM that it is easy to find students with good results but all rounders etc are so hard to come by.

I would like to know more about the innov pgm for jh1. We were given the schedule that it wil fall on tue, bt it does not indicate when it will start. My child has no idea too. And, the consolidation cls for various subj are for students to consult the subj teacher when they have doubts?

The school LMS should have a link about the IvP; last year it was sometime around end Jan. If I recall correctly, students who are interested will click on the link to apply for the program (and answer some questions). I think the lessons would start in Feb.

My DS is in Sec 2 this year. I would like to ask what determines whether you get your choice of subject combi? Does the school take overall results and then rank students just like PSLE and those ranked on top will get their choice first? or is it based on your strength (subjects that you scored well?)

In the curriculum booklet, JH 3/4 subj combi criteria are spelled out.

Exactly how the posting is done is not explained.

Thanks Jennifer but there is only promotion criteria and not subject combi selection criteria. I hope the briefings will give us some insight into this. Btw, is it difficult to get a place in triple science class?

According to DS, there are criteria to meet to get to do advance humanities or advance science. All others do triple science as a standard subject combi.
