[PSLE MT] PSLE less weightage in Chinese / Mother Tongue
-
Hi All
For those parents that worry about Chinese, a good news from today's newspaper :celebrate:
MOE is considering to have less weightage in Chinese as they mention since Chinese is not compulsory in O level results and even in JC, then for P6, Chinese should not have so much weightage
But too bad, I think this takes years to come true. At least not for this year PSLE. May affect my P3 kids but definitely not for my P6 girl now :stupid: -
Have anyone heard that there might be a change in mother tongue language weightage in PSLE? :?
-
Wonder how does this affect students who are good in MT? Also kids from SAP school.
-
Front page of papers today. MOE considering lowering weightage of MT but it will them some time to study and decide. Wont affect this yearβs P6 and not likely P5 and dare I say P4 as well.
-
AIYA... I hope they can decide fast and benefit the p6 next yr...

I don't know know as not much detail given on the newspaper
It may not even affecting those already in Primary school even P1 now. It may takes years to come. I think they don't want to discourage/stop bright students that are not good in Chinese. MOE will collect suggestions etc according to newspaper. So maybe too late for all the parents that have kids in primary school now. :stupid:
Maybe our grandchildren will benefits from it. Haha :celebrate: -
emmm....that is one issue but it will definitely prevent a 'certain group of non-singaporean' from dominating the top psle scores..
sorry very sensitive issue...
