Here is what he wrote this morning. I think his spelling is not there yet. :faint:
His cring for the door bicoz lae he want to go owside. The baby.
meaning:
He is crying for the door because later he wants to go outside.
:?: :?: :?:
BTW, he is already in K2. -
i thought of teaching or improving my ds creative writing instead of packing him to enrichment centre, unless it prove helpless then i’ll look around for a centre, save cost too. Any parents or teachers out there whom can share your experiences on teaching creative/compo writing with your own kids/students?

Hi pokemon,
I bought “Zoom in Vocabulary for Creative Writing Book 5” for P5 level. Publisher is CASCO. DD has stated using this book since P4 (Book 4) and she finds this book useful. Each chapter starts with a Model Composition and follows by a few Exercises to emphasis the understanding of the power words and also the enrichment in vocabulary. We did not teach her (our English not good) but just help to verify her working against the answers sheet provided. She is not attending any English Enrichment class or tuition the last 4 years except this year we let her attending the English Enrichment class to strengthen her base. Hope the above information useful to you.

Hi pokemon,
I find getting the children to pick out writing styles and phrases from storybooks really helped my students in school, I sometimes go to this website, lovereading.co.uk to source out what are the good books, they allow you to download extracts from their books and if I find it good, I get it from bookstores or book suppliers who bring in books not found in stores and use the books to teach the children to write from there.
I found using phrases from storybooks very effective as I am feeding the kids continuously with good vocab and effective writing styles from a wide range of authors.
I could let you know what books are especially good for this if you are interested
