Thanks Susan for the fast response. Maybe the rest are arranged in the order of school registration phases which explains why she is in the last class.
May not be cos my eldest son went in via Phase 2C (2), almost the last applicant and he was in 1D.
Usually 1A are siblings who are already in Yumin.yap_susan:
My P1 daughter has just been allocated to a class. Does anyone know how the classes are allocated?
Random, some assessment test, birthdays or family name alphabetical order? :?
The rest is random.
They dont stream the children till they are in P3.
From P2 to P3 last year, they are streamed according to Maths results. -
Any P3 kids here need science tuition? I am trying to find 1 or 2 kids to form a class for my son. The tutor is an ex-sch teacher, the fee is $125 per month and the timing will be Mon 6-7.30pm. This is the only available time slot from the teacher. PM me if you keen to join me, I would like to prepare my son for the coming SA1.

Can anyone give a review of the school? We’re planning to register our girl for 2018 P1 but there are no reviews about the school. The website isn’t very helpful either. TIA!

Hi Mini-Bug, the current principal now Mdm Rhao was from Raffles Girls. I would say this school is not bad for a neighbourhood school. Nowadays they do not overly emphasize on academic only as they want to promote holistic all-rounder education.
For the past few years Yumin won many awards for being such a school, and also they have had 100% PSLE passing rates too. -

Thanks for the feedback, Mommarazzi! Good to hear that they don't over emphasize on academics. I do want my girl to enjoy going to school. That is most important to me because a happy child makes life easy for for parentsHi Mini-Bug, the current principal now Mdm Rhao was from Raffles Girls. I am just curious why Yumin is not as popular as many other schools in Tampines. :scratchhead:

Any idea how does the sch allocate the classes? I understand there was a change in principal. My girl will be joining the sch in 2018. Thanx.

My girl is joining in 2018 too. Is it necessary to get the black shoes from school or is it ok to buy other types from outside?
