can i ask for those parents whose children in the afternoon session, how do your child spend the day in the morning? my child tends to wake up early (7am) and i think it is a tiring for him to have to take the school bus at 10.30 am. Due to logistic, we unable to let him go for the morning session. Thank you for your responses.

Hi both my kids are in Soka now - N2 and K2. They are in noon session. Usually in the morning they just play or watch tv then brunch before boarding their school bus by 1030. Not much time actually.

For those who have enrolled their child to Soka Kindergarten, what did you do for N1 as the school only has N2 or for those kids turning 4?

Also do you know when enrollment starts for 2016? My girl is turning 3 next year and am interested in Soka but too bad they only accept kids age 3 turning 4 in the first level.

            Thanks!

My spouse took care of my child during N1. Alternative you can place your child is some playgroup around your area first

You may want to call SK to check the enrolment date for 2016

                  Hi,

I sent my boy to PCF for N1 before entering Soka Kindergarten. Usually, enrollment is held at their March open house during the start of school holidays.

Are there any parents here whose child have graduated from Soka? My child is in k1 soka now. I’m worried about how well they prepare the children for p1. I have nothing against the school and my child is enjoying lessons everyday. But being less academic, is the syllabus covered enough for p1? Therefore I hope some parents could share how their child is coping in p1. Appreciate all views.

Mine has graduated almost 3 years ago. It depends on the parents mentality and involvement. If the parents are those hands-off and leave it to school/enrichment classes, then SK might not be so academic as one would like. If the parents are involve and revise together with the child during P1, then it is not a problem. Actually P1 is really honeymoon period for the child.

When the child starts P1, every week will have Ting Xie and Spelling, and also homework. That is where the real work starts. If the child is diligent, together with the parents' involvement, then should not be a problem. My girl coped very well in P1. Now my girl is P3 and she still said that her SK time is the most fun and memorable.

Hi daddy2007, thanks for the information given. Well at least I'm not the hands off type of parent but I'm no tiger mum too šŸ˜‚ .

Where I'm coming from is that I'm afraid Soka may not teach enough for the child to be ready for P1. If that's the case, I will probably have to put in a bit more effort to teach my child at home.

Nevertheless, my child loves Soka so much and I think that is enough for me to continue with the school.
