Last wk, my DD1 was just asking what if a student falls very sick during PSLE; then how ? if he/she just missed one paper; then how to calculate T-score or even need to take the rest of the papers ? I dunno; that’s why i told her it’s best to try DSA for "the dream sch"; if accepted i guess it shld be easier to talk to the principal.
anyway, my DD1 will be trying for 1 sch only - so no need to spend too much time on preparation or going for GAT/interview (she’s not mainstream although she was selected for GEP; she decided to stay at her original sch - well … any "discount" or not for DSA ??). i also told her it’s the case of "no harm trying"; if she can get in thru DSA; then it’s gd otherwise take it as a "wake-up" call to study hard and do well in PSLE. i already told her that only a small percentage of mainstreamers will be accepted - to set her expectation; anyway i think less than 5 in her class will try; so nobody will stress her on whether she can get in thru DSA. Even her ft told the whole class that they should get in their dream sch based on their PSLE results and no need to waste time on DSA. So, I’m not getting any testimonial from her ft; just photocopy her sch results and other competition cert. -
Good luck, ningy, with the dsa.

What about DSA via sports? How many vacancies are usually allocated? How stringent are their selection criterias? Do sports DSA have a different quota as DSA Academic?
DS started competitive bowling last yr and so far only has 2 good tournaments report card to show. We intend to try MSHS and ACSI for bowling DSA but not sure what are his chances. We thought of NJC but he is an average student academically so we are reluctant to even try.
