2017 P1 Registration Exercise for 2018 In-Take
-
Hi, would appreciate any advice or tips as we are still quite confused about the options.

Weโre living within 2km from the following: Hong Wen, Farrer Park, St. Margaret, Bendemeer, and Stamford (within 1km).
Weโve narrowed down to 3 schools: Hong Wen, St. Margaret and Farrer Park.
We are going to apply for PV for Hong Wen (open in May) as our 1st choice for its Chinese culture.
We have no affiliation to any of the 3 schools but prefer a co-ed.
We are thinking of going for 2B for Hong Wen with PV, if that fails then 2C for Hong Wen. Worst case then 2C supp for Farrer Park.
Is this thinking logical? Are we allowed to apply for same sch under 2 different phases?
Thanks loads! -
Good luck with your PV application at Hong Wen,
because failing that, you can pretty much leave Hong Wen
out of the equation.
For the past several years, Hong Wen had needed to
ballot for those living within 1km in phase 2C. Since your
home is in the 1-2km range, you won't get to ballot at all.

Hi all
I'm new to this forum and have been reading all your valuable inputs.\"
My son is born in 2011 and will be registering him for P1 next year. I'm torn :?: between:
Phase 2A2 - SJI Junior (2nd Choice)
Phase 2C within 1km - ACS Primary Barker (1st Choice)
What are our thoughts on this?
Thank you!! -
Hi all thank you for opening this forum. My son is born in 2011 and will be registering him next year. I am staying at jurong west. Just realize xing nan primary school already close their pv. Aiming to enrol him in frontier primary school but under 2c. Do you think is wise decision to go for frontier? Most of the school is within 1km for me. Thank you for your advice

We are looking at applying for CHIJ OLN under phase 2C and our address is <2km.
Qn: according to historical data, balloting chance is about 50% with a 80% success rate. However, I noticed that a few condo developments <1km of OLN have recently TOP or is going to TOP this yr. should I still try for OLN or drop it cos it may b more competitive with the surge in applications from the new condos nearby?
Our place mentioned above is currently rented out as we are living abroad and will only be back in 2019.
Qn: does the calculation of the min 30mths stay start from registration date in July 2017 or when we are back living in our flat from 2019?
If it starts from July 2017, then it should end by end 2019. What if we are back in sg then but not living in the flat yet as we are renovating the place and are temporary staying put at an address thatโs > 2km? Do we need to inform/ explain to the school/ moe? -

Hi, thanks for your reply and info.
So let's say we apply for PV at Hong Wen, while waiting for results, should we also prepare to go for Phase 2B for Farrer Park or St. Margaret (join church? Both hubby and I are not Anglicans)? Still in dilemma which is a better second choice if Hong Wen fails, Farrer Park or St. Margaret...
We have so limited choices around our house area, unlike the bigger estates.

Is your child a Singapore Citizen?
If she is, then she looks quite safe for both St Margaret's and Farrer Park
for phase 2C.
St Margaret's required balloting only for PR for past 2 years (http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/central)
while Farrer Park still has plenty of spaces available after phase 2CS (http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/kallang) -
After much discussion and deliberation over the past few weeks (yes we've been too chill and only just started to realize the very limited options we have around our house :slapshead: ), we've decided to go with Hong Wen as 1st choice for our eldest girl, have submitted PV application for Hong Wen and are looking to move within 1km of the school (currently 1-2km).
If our PV application is unsuccessful, does anyone know if joining grassroots will help us get into P2B of Hong Wen? If so how do we go about doing that and is there any deadline?
Our current plan is to hopefully get into P2B of Hong Wen, failing which then go thru balloting in P2C of Hong Wen (with our new <1km address). If both unsuccessful then we'll go for Haig Girls which did not have balloting in P2C(S) last year.
Currently leaving Farrer Park out even though it will also be within 1Km of our new place, but we'll see how it goes with the above two.

It's too late (by at least a year) for you to go via the grassroots route. -
hello everyone... soooo glad i found this thread!!!
Area residing - Yishun
Schools aiming - Northland Primary School (within 1km)

there are 41 parents going to be balloting for 20 slots of PV and 3 slots of reserve... and if i do get the PV slot, does it mean we will sure get a place for P1?
