Dear all, I'm WC. I very new to this forum and join here.... like to enquire your opinion.. My daughter is coming 3 in this coming Sept 2015. I think of letting her learn violin or ballet, will that be too early? or when is the suitable age to let her start off?

which school can I lookout for? as i come from Low-mid income family, so would be great if the lesson fee is not too expensive. Normally how much is the lessons fee on average?

I always heard people say that when child are young, it better to start off as early as possible....so this come to my mind

For ballet, you can sign her up at CC. Many CC offer ballet at relatively cheap prices of around $100 for 10 lessons (different grades and different CC different charges). 4 years old will be a good age to start ballet as the minimum age for taking the first ballet exams (Pre Primary grade) is 6 years old (Do not be confused as on RAD website, it will be written as 5 years old on 1 January).

I was told that my long thin fingers are an asset in playing the piano (my hand span can reach 1 octave plus 2 notes). But when I tried to learn the guitar, it was hard for me to press the strings down fully (apparently short fat fingers are better for that. Also I am strongly right-handed, so it is doubly difficult for me to switch chords quickly.

So ambidexterity/left-handedness may be one of the factors to consider. Eg ambidextrous persons make better drummers, left handed people make better violinists/guitarists? Especially my child can pick up violin vibrato much quicker than me. Other instruments: may not matter much.
