[/quote]Am I the only one not started any revisions at all, not even SA1......
Cham lah, starting to get worried now but my kid still in lalaland. Honestly wanted to ask if any kids can get by well enough simply by being diligent with schoolwork?
Hmmm...it really depends on your definition of \"get by well enough\" as well as each individual child's academic abilities. -
Tuesdays are her ‘long’ days with 2 supplementary lessons…so I don’t give her any work. When she is done with school homework, she is off for the night. i wish I could give her Friday night off…but it would have to be after SA1.

good to know that cos my kid spends more time in sports and dance (5x a week) than homework. I just hope that my kid can be balanced in her time commitment towards academic and non-academic.
CCAs? -
so much homework yesterday...in the end, english couldn't be completed as i made her go to bed. supplementary lessons today.
there is compulsory NAPFA test this year. why couldn't it be done last year instead? :siao: after her 5 item test 2moro, i am very sure she will knock out early...meaning 2 days can't revise anything after school. -

CCA + Enrichments. To do well in sports, CCAs 2x a week in school is not enough.Imp75:

Yup, Tuesday are long days for my dd also, ending at 4pm. Today, one of her supplementary is cancelled to make way for the Napfa 1.6km run. She said she will be back around 5.30pm - 6pm.so much homework yesterday...in the end, english couldn't be completed as i made her go to bed. supplementary lessons today.

I think today, my dd will be too tired to even move!
Raining here now. Hopefully no rain later and not so hot also. Hope can get the 1.6km run over and done with today. -
I think the emphasis on CCA and holistic learning is all set to increase.
Personally, I think it’s great to have an all-rounded education. But chances are it will turn into another competition…something tells me the sports and arts enrichment classes are going to be very much in demand real soon.
Making changes at the lower end of the academic ladder is not going to change the competitive and kiasu mindset of Singaporeans and its not going to reduce stress. Fairly major changes need to happen at the secondary and tertiary levels. For one, sec schools other than elite schools need to become more attractive and value-add to students and parents. Otherwise, nothing is going to stop parents from pushing their kids to get into the elite schools. -

That's intense :nailbite: in terms of time commitment. You aiming for sports DSA?
I scaled down on enrichment aka piano since 2nd half of last year. No piano exam this year.
But I noticed dd is playing her piano more often than before. The busier she is, the more she looks for avenue to de-stress and wind down. If she's super free, she 反而 won't touch her piano :scratchhead:
Instead of reminding her to practice (last year when she had piano exam), now I have to remind her not to spend too much time playing pop pieces on her piano. Irony hor

Heard from a piano teacher that her P5 student stopping lessons soon to prepare for psle…

Hi everyone,
I am new to this thread. Can anyone tell me if there are any Mock PSLE exams conducted by any educational institutes before our kids can finally face the actual PSLE?
:thankyou:
