Hmm...maybe I should start considering this - send my kids to learn 咏春

Since 琴棋书画 obviously insufficient in future

          I agree with you.

Agree. One should not begrudge the success of the rich kid in the top school if that kid has indeed put in real hard work to attain that success.

At the same time the under privileged kid should not be disadvantaged in his/her dream/desire to go to better schools.

But how to make a comparative evaluation? Rich kid with Grade 8 piano distinction equivalent to poor kid with Grade 3 pass? :scratchhead:

Why blame MOE folks? Parents response is like a moving target…changes with the wind.

Need motivation from within and put in hard work to practice lah. No short cut in piano exam.
              Wealth won't buy a distinction

Although wealthy parents can certainly afford better / more qualified teachers :siam:

From the last few pages discussion, can infer that's the future direction?
品学兼优 not good enough hor. Need 三好, must ace in sports too

Actually no need to wait till next time. Now certain companies undergoing retrenchment. Who are the ones being retrenched?
middle age mid management who were also 品学兼优 students from their era wah

By the way, I agreed with one of the earlier posts

Cannot expect so many leaders wah. Need 1 chief with vision and some doers, some thinkers, some marketeers

Otherwise everyone wants to talk big big only but who is on the ground doing the work?
This leadership thingy is over-rated :siam:

Anyway, I think a person with leadership skills will naturally rise to lead. Simple example and commonly happen during group project. Teacher might appoint a student to be the proejct leader but in reality everyone else in the group listens and take instructions from another unappointed leader, including that appointed leader 😂

I am sure you can find many similar examples in your work place. Try identifying the 'unspoken' leader in your workplace 😉
