Pat's Schoolhouse

Dear Pat’s mummies,
Is it common to hold birthday parties at Pat’s?
Usually what is the norm? Just get a cake will do? -
I think it is quite common nowadays to celebrate child’s birthday in any preschool, not just pat’s school house. Depends on parent’s preference.
My child did received birthday packs on few occassions in pat’s school. The communication handbook will show a list of children with DOB under the same class. For celebration in preschool, commonly just a birthday cake + birthday packs for same class of children will do. That’s what I did in my child’s last birthday. -
Some pre school will let you have Mac's or KFC birthday party during school time too. They will allocate aroung 1.5 hours and all parents need to do is bring camera and cake.

The Principal is also new in this role. FYI.
Hello!
For my case I just met one Chinese teacher during the Saturday I went to visit. I understand the teachers are new since this is a new centre. My concern would be whether they can implement Pat's programme correctly and follow Pat's philosophy. I hope since my kid is starting next year they would be more seasoned by then! -
Great, then it will not be a big hassle for me.
My kid is new to the school, so dunno what is the past trend.
Thanks for the advices.

Hi Mummies,
I have sorta confirmed my son's place at Pats Whitley.
Hi, I have just registered for my son at Pats Whitley as well for next year Nursery. How about you? This centre, being new, is very pleasing and I love the large music room - hope they really make full use of this for the kids!
The past couple of months searching for a play-based pre-school for my son has been extremely stressful. I searched the web and narrow down to Little Skoolhouse, Learning Vision, Kinderland and YMCA. Firstly I was quite surprise at the prices as they are not cheap ie. ranging between SGD700 to SGD1,000. Secondly I was even more surprised that all these places are fully packed with no vacancies at all!
After I gave up on all these places, I decided to go \"up market\" to Patschoolhouse since I thought being \"up market\", surely there must be vacancies right? WRONG! I called Halifax and Buckley and was rejected straightaway due to long waiting list. Was deciding between Pat Mount Emily who is accepting registration now or Pat Whitley which is nearer my place. Finally just go with Pat Whitley who can confirm a place for me already for next year!

Sorry for the late reply but I just managed to dig out the fee schedule from Patschoolhouse!
Programme as follows:
Nursery = Year child turns 4
K1 = Year child turns 5
K2 = Year child turns 6
Since your child was born in Jan '06, I guess he should be in Nursery this year 2010. However because he is a January baby, there may be a choice to start one year earlier? Some schools like Learning Vision goes by Calendar Months of birth ie. 30 to 36 months is in Playgroup etc. So you need to check with the pre-school itself for your son's case which class he should be in!

Hi Terry,
So how much are the fees?
Fees as follows (all inclusive of GST):
Extended Full Day 7am to 7 pm = SGD 1,391
Full Day 1 am to 5.30 pm = SGD 1,284
Extended Half-day 7 am to 3 pm = SGD 1,177
Half Day (AM) = SGD 963, (PM) = 823.90
Have you decided on which pre-school already?
