Anyone have a daughter at SST? My P6 girl just applied to take the placement test. The school looks very interesting, but I have two concerns. First, we live in the East and she’ll have a long commute. Second, when we went to the parents information talk, I asked how many girls there were in the school. The principal said 25% of the students were girls.
My daughter goes to an all-girls primary school. I am concerned that going to a school with so many boys will give her culture shock. Has anyone had any experience with this? -
MY DS is also keen in going to SST… but i am concern abt what going to happening after Sec 4.

My DS1 (P5 this yr) also aiming to go SST....
Dunno whether to support him or try to encourage him to go other schools instead. -
I think going to SST equate to going to poly after their O level.
I am also at a dilemma as to whether i shld encourage my DS to go for it.
But my DS enjoys hands on stuff and robotics so i think he will enjoy going to sst. -
I’m encouraging my daughter to look only at schools that offer ‘O’ levels rather than IP schools. I intend to send her to the US for university, and she’ll have more options if she has ‘O’ levels. About 80% of tertiary institutions in the US will accept students without ‘A’ levels–this includes good universities, liberal arts colleges and community colleges.
Also, frankly, students coming out of IP schools tend to look worse than students who have ‘O’ levels, even if this isn’t really the case. A student from an IP school applies to a US university with a transcript for year 4 and predicted ‘A’ level results. In general, the marks on the transcript are not going to look as good as ‘O’ level results. A student who would have had all As if they had taken ‘O’ levels, will not have all As or 4.0s on their transcript for year 4. -
For those who are interested, there is another open house on 22 May, 9am - 5pm.

Hi all,
Just joined this forum today.
My son is seriously considering SST. We’ll be going to the 22May open house.
Any existing parents of SST students wld like to share the experience studying in SST so far? Facilities? Dedication of teachers? CCAs?
Thanks.
