Woke up around 8am, went to the wet market to buy veg, vacuum the whole house, gave myself a gd scrub before settling down in front of my laptop.

Can you shop another day? I never go to the supermarket during the weekends if I can help it. If I have to, I will go before 9.30am when the queues are still not too bad.

the veg is for 2moroβs meal, so cannot buy in advance.
hubby will drop me at ntuc first and then send daughter for tuition before coming back to pick me. -

I usually go wet market on wkends.
For supermarket, for bulk purchase like buying rice etc, we will do it during the wkend bec hv helpers (ie dh and dd) and the car. For a few light items, then I buy from the ntuc at my workplace.
Yes, during the wkends, wet markets and supermarkets are real crowded, esp IMM after 10am, finding a parking lot can be quite challenging. -
weekends, supermarkets and wet markets are packed with people who buy food for the week ahead. I donβt go to IMM on weekends because the long queue of cars waiting to enter the car park is very long.

The pre-cut veg stored in an air-tight container can last for a few days.
I usually pre-cut veg on Sat and Sun to be used on wkdays. They can last till Thur for cabbages and even Xiao bai Cai. -
I only know cabbage and broccoli can keep for a few days but leafy veg at most 2 days wrapped tightly in newspapers.
-
I find that leafy veg from wet market (probably due to exposure to sun) will not last as long as the veg from supermarket.

I do my marketing early in the morning on weekdays, 6+am. Not many people and not so hot and stallholders give better service. Not rushed mah, can chit chat summore. Some stalls may not be ready though.
If kept in air tight container, most veg can last longer. I will cut spring onions into size to fit into an air tight box. Line it with kitchen towel, put the spring onions in there, cover it with another kitchen towel then the lid of the box. The spring onions can last beyond a week like that. Parsley too. Kailan can last quite long in the fridge. For us, leafy veg we usually lay them out to get rid of excess moisture before putting in the fridge. I donβt wrap in newspaper but I use kitchen towels.
