I find that leafy veg from wet market (probably due to exposure to sun) will not last as long as the veg from supermarket.

I do my marketing early in the morning on weekdays, 6+am. Not many people and not so hot and stallholders give better service. Not rushed mah, can chit chat summore. Some stalls may not be ready though.

If kept in air tight container, most veg can last longer. I will cut spring onions into size to fit into an air tight box. Line it with kitchen towel, put the spring onions in there, cover it with another kitchen towel then the lid of the box. The spring onions can last beyond a week like that. Parsley too. Kailan can last quite long in the fridge. For us, leafy veg we usually lay them out to get rid of excess moisture before putting in the fridge. I don’t wrap in newspaper but I use kitchen towels.

leafy veg bought from the supermarket tends to last longer...probably because it is cooler. but if the air con in the supermarket is too cold, the canned food bought has to be consumed fast because our kitchens do not have air con and I am afraid it will spoil.

If the can has not been opened, bacteria cannot enter, so the change in temperature will not affect the contents.

I gave up after watching episode 1 of House of Spirits but heard that it is very popular in HK. Is the Come home love nice? Just finished Love as Predatory Affair (nice!) and Fashion War (nice!).

Hope your son get well soon. There's a flu bug circulating.

the flu is on its round now.
thanks yl...looks like I have to monitor him more to see that he doesn't get burnt out before o levels begin.

house of spirits is a comedy and I would consider it worth watching since the cast consists of veterans....something light hearted.

as for 'come home love: dinner at 8', so-so. half hour of entertainment.
