          Hi all!

Anyone here has children in My English School?

My girl in P3 did a trial lesson at the Jurong East branch some time back. The class was conducted by a male teacher, forgot the name.

Was impressed with their materials but not the way the lesson was carried out. Half the booklet wasn't completed. The completed questions were peer marked and corrected by other pupils in class using colour pencils (don't understand why write in colour pencils, can't even see clearly).

Went to their CCK branch to enquire but was turned off by the attitude of their counter staffs. There were no chairs at the counter for parents. I had to stand to talk to the staff who was seated down. I requested for them to provide me with a chair to sit down as I had a recent knee injury and also cos i had a lot of things to ask them abt their programmes. Wanted to see the materials too. Despite me telling her about my knee pain, she just stared at me and refused to provide me with the empty chair which was just beside her! Terrible.

Anyway, I thought their materials were good. If everything could be covered in the lessons, it would have been great. I'm thinking of having my girl try their lesson one more time. Any recommendation which teacher and branch is good?

Thanks in advance for all advice! 🙂

For those mummies with children in the reading programme

May I check if you would recommend completing Book 6 and Book 7? My son is finishing Book 5 in Nov so I am considering if worth to continue Book 6 for another one month (probably will not be able to finish the book as the centre will be closed for 3 weeks in December). Or sign him up for something else more useful for Dec holidays? I read in the ICR thread that some mummies think it is not necessary. I understand the MES programme is somewhat similar to ICR as MES was previously operating ICR programmes.
