I placed my kids in d scc in d sch itself due to convenience. D fees r also cheaper. So cannot hv much expectation if u compare its qualities of food n coaching to d scc outside of sch.

I withdrew my kids out of scc wen their homework become overwhelming in d upper pri. Alot of time is wasted on waiting n assembling d kids to queue to go canteen eat their lunch. N d guardians do not teach or give them ans to their sch work. In d end kids end up frustrated n hv to wait till they see us in d evening to get d ans. Anyway they have since quitted scc. Time is more well spent n efficient now.

      Juz my 2 cents worth.

          Hi jkids!
Your kids are in which school? AIP or YPS?

            SoYouThink:
            Hi,

My boy is currently 4 years old (born in 2012). We are both SPR and live in Yishun. From going through this forum, we can see that Chongfu and Northland are both highly in demand.

Any parents here can advice which school should we enroll our boy into? We stay within 1km from Chongfu and Northland. Do we stand a chance if we go under phase 2B (PV) in either of the school or phase 2C?

Alternatively, besides these 2 schools, any other schools to recommend? Appreciate feedback and suggestions. Thank you in advance.

            Hi SoYouThink!

Your boy is dragon boy so I think chances is quite slim for NLP & CF, especially when you are not citizen (SC). You are too late to be RC member (must get letter of appointment before June 2016). You might try PV (but NLP normally reject SPR as PV, not sure about CF, or you may try other school near your house).

You may consider Huamin, Jiemin, Xishan and Yishun Primary. I feel these 4 schools are quite nice as well. Historically, Huamin & Jiemin required ballot. SPR might stand a better chance to get into the rest. You should start to look around and try to apply for PV by now.

            Good luck! :rahrah:

Thanks all for the advice. I just want to check, I am 1km to 2km of Chongfu & Northland. Which one should I even try to apply? 😞

Think Northland is just as bad or worse than Chongfu. So you might have to opt for the less popular schools if Holy Innocent doesn't work for you.

Out of curiosity, wouldn't you want your girl to attend the same school as you?

Both schools listed are not an option for you. If you are betting on 2C, you will find another other those 2.[/quote]Hi all, I just manage to see Chongfu has 81/ 83 vacancies for Phase 2C. I stay within 1km - 2km range. OMG. What are the chances? πŸ™‚

                  Answer: 0%

Chongfu take up rate after P2B (74%) is not much different from previous year (73% to 81%) and it has never escaped balloting within 1km for P2C for the last 10 years.

I have different thought ler... I think not necessarily 0% this year... last year ballot for those stay within 1km and the number of registration was 78 (fight for 63 vacancies)... this year having 81 vacancies and considering this is year of tiger, SC staying within 1-2km should have chance to ballot... just my opinion. SC staying within 2km and do not mind to ballot can monitor the number of registration closely... I think have chance...

Considering last year 160 fighting for 80 vacancies, I think this year will be tragic as well... think those stay outside 1km should have 0% chance...

I was looking through the vacancies by phases page by MOE and saw that there’s quite alot of vacancies in Jiemin this year as compared to previous years’ stats. What has happened this year that makes Jiemin a less attractive school this year?
