Heard from a friend: cantonment has 74 spaces left as of 10am today.

so having a Principal and VP from popular schools drove the enrolment at APS up.

These shld probably be the safer option so that they don't waste their 2C chance... This P1 thingy in SG is so competitive...

if all the applicants are staying within 1km, then it's really not worth taking the risk at 2C.
what about gan eng seng or chij kellock for girls? the latter has affiliation to secondary.

Actually I think some of the parents' mentality isn't about the P/VP. More like, it's the next relatively better sch, and thot more chance cos RMPS is out of the question. But I think most parents also more willing to give new schools a try compared to those normal ones that have been around for a while, at least that's the sentiments I got from some friends. Good move though to put credible Ps/VPs in these new schools.

but if demand exceeds by so much, then it's wiser to choose a school which has been around rather than go through a heart thumping session during balloting.

Parents like me choose it cos of the credentials of the P/VP and the relatively lesser students in the school. Also as a new school, the pioneer batches will have the opportunity to shape the school because everything starts on a clean slate.

true. a brand new school is always nice to attend. the pioneers will set the standard with a new P and VP. if APS is too hot, then another new school to consider will be Cantonment.

Radin mas seems to have a lower take up rate. I guess all these will change come afternoon. Seems like a good choice.
