Double E:
Hi Double E,belachanbabe
Sorry to hear about your rejection too. Seems like I have to prep myself for the same result. In fact, I was telling friends that I am not worry about this mandarin as he can always get exemption, seems like it is not the case afterall. I also wonder of the MOE interviews the MT teacher to get a better sense of how the kid cope in school instead of just depending on the report. But I will do the same like you, put up appeal and speak to MP for help. I wish you all the best.
You are planning to exempt Chinese for your son? I remembered he can manage it. Maybe let him try bah. -
I wonder how the new PSLE scoring system will affect our kids. My ds is exempted from Mother Tongue. Does this mean his best score is 3, not 4?
How will secondary schools admit 3 subjects vs 4 subjects students? -

This is done by taking reference from peers with similar PSLE scores for English, Mathematics and Science.
The same approach will continue in the new PSLE scoring system.\"[/quote] -

Hello everyone,
My son was just diagnosed with autism last week. My wife and me was in panic mode in last couple of days. He is 21 month now and didn’t speak at all, only baba/mama in a few times. And seldom respond to his name. He likes spin things a lot. Anything, from toys to basins.
We have applied for EIPIC from KK, however, till now still no response from SG ENABLE. So I just called back. They replied that they have received the letter from KK, but not yet the medical report. Normally it will take a few weeks to prepare it. After that, they will process the application for another a few weeks… Why it is so slow??
I don’t want to waste anytime for my son, what should I do now?? -

It will be a shock when you first have a diagnosis, but you will feel less panicky once you know more about how you can help your child yourself while waiting. At such a young age, what parents do at home on a daily basis is more effective than less frequent therapy sessions.Hello everyone,

My child too, was diagnosed at 25 months by the doctor. She told me they ever diagnosed a child as young as 16 months.
I was asked to go for psychology assessment after 2.5 years old.
Snow24, I suggest you send your child for assessment. -
My friends have children with autism, try not to panic, you will find ways to cope and mechanisms to understand. There are even apps on the market!
Around 3-4 years old my friend found their son to be tripping over alot, even though he went to occupational therapist. Some valuable information was gained after seeing a foot specialist recommended by the occupational guy. But actually the kid could have been checked earlier (2-3 years) and not had so many falls.
