You might want to call your agent and check whether she is telling you the truth that the place she came from don't raise their voices? Sound funny to me :scratchhead:

I think she is finding excuse to change employer.

I think we all in concurrence that she dunwan to work. But is it worth getting someone to stay when they don't want to?

If happen to me, I'll call the agent and ask agent to talk to her. Maybe agent will open her eyes a bit and she may change her mind.

Sometimes the way agents treat the maids are far far worse than what employers do. I do not condone it, but find it amazing that maids seem to put up with it (maybe new?).

      Agreed.

I don't allow my maid to keep long hair. Cos she is looking after my 13 mths and 4 yrs old boys.

When I selected her, I told my agent must tell her.

Two days ago, I told my maid will bring her to cut short her hair, she can tell me don't want. And told me that the agent din tell her.

:clubmyself: I told her either she cut or will change her.

Last night, I told her again, Sat will bring her to cut her hair. Her hair is so messy and untidy which I don't feel good. She asked me cut infront but keep behide can? Like that must as well don't cut :stupid:

So, I was very :x and raised my voice at her. I told her that the agent did informed her(I called and checked with the agent). After that she keep silent and agreed to cut on Sat (which is tomorrow). šŸ˜„

Seems like they have this strange preference for long hair. Ex-maid and current ones all like that - Indo.

But my mum is very insistent on short hair. Our compromise to them is that in the months prior to going home, they don't need to cut hair - else it should be short hair.

But honestly apart from food preparation, I'm not sure why there is this preference for short hair. If a maid ties up the hair neatly/keep hair away from her face, cannot?

(My other objections to long hair would be her potential obsession in maintaining it, or constant touching of hair which can be gross depending on what she's going to touch next).

                Hi shine_fs,

Is she filipino? Most filipinos have long hair. You can ask her to tie up her hair during the day. If she's really unhappy b/c you force her to cut she might hate you going forward 😐 :

She is Indo. The problem is her hair is not here and there......must as well cut short.

The big problem is she din even know how to maintain it.....every day I look at her, messy/untidy hair....

Then better cut short. My filipino maids all have long hair but they tie up during the day and wash every nite.

Then depends on how she's going to view the hair cut thing and if she'll be buey song - and thereafter what may transpire. If you choose to, perhaps can soothe her using the same method - ie 6 months before her contract up, you'll allow her to keep her hair (your kids will be older and take it as cost savings from not having to bring her for haircut).

I understand the part about messy hair. My ex-maid's hair is unmanageable...and to keep us from asking her to cut, she'll tie in the most imaginative way....very funny, but we had to loon. Internal injuries....

I told her if she wants to work in my family and look after my kids. I will not allowed her to keep long hair. If she want to keep her hair, will be when she is back to her home town or near to her contract ending.

Her hair is really like your ex-maid's hair.....unmanageable. I think you can understand what I mean........
