daughter did the science prelim for henry park last night and it was pretty good...but I don't understand why she cannot score full marks for MCQ for school exams.

we have always been worried for her subjects, and as such I dedicate equal time for all of them...now that she has shown improvement for math and English, I will still focus on them but spend a bit more time on her science.

Janet, doing an exam paper at home is very different from doing an exam paper in school in an exam environment. Kids tend to fear n not relaxed so most of the time, they can't think clearly n will make more mistakes instead.

What you have to do now (apart from working on her weak areas) is to work on her mental ability - psycho her and build up her confidence. Give her regular pep talks, don't pressurize her, make her feel relaxed n go in mentally prepared. More importantly, let her know that you will always love her no matter how she performs. Don't show your worry - it's contagious.

      All the best!!!!

        thanks zbear.

the atmosphere at home and in an exam hall is totally different.
this could be the main reason why she is unable to perform. what she needs is confidence and loads of it…that she can make do it.

Non-PSLE stuff : Are the kids starting to 发花痴 at this age? Is it very common for them to send the - I like you, do you like me, I thought you like xx - messages now? And if you are the parent, are you okay with it?

Yup, start to be vain like want to wear ear rings. Also receive weird messages from a boy...but i dont think will go beyond that. At least, she is still sharing with me on bgr stuff... :rotflmao: i think it is important that she shares things with us so that we know what is going on. I am expecting more nonsense from her after PSLE.... :nailbite:

Thanks for sharing. I am super irritated by the messages and photos sent by girls morning and night trying to find out who ds likes. Don't they have better things to do like their homework?? I feel like calling them and scolding them or turning them over to the teacher. :nunchuk:

I was super pissed with daughter’s friends sms-ing her about decorating the classroom today. out of the blue yesterday, she wanted to buy balloons. 发花痴 does bug me and I’ve warned her that if this continues, I am going to confiscate her phone. PSLE is round the corner and there is homework from school to be completed.

Exactly!! I wish these girls' parents are like you! They are just stirring up trouble sending photos of OTHER girls around! I even had one girl calling in a panic because she realised someone else sent her photo as a prank. Then 告白 and 拒绝, then 她哭了你知道吗? it is just too much!!!

Teacher's Day celebration today and the kids may want to show their appreciation to their teachers by decorating their classroom. I think it's ok if not a frequent event and the kids need a break now and then too. Don't worry too much.

Lol… probably too much influence fr watching romantic dramas…feel that parents should restrict kids fr such romantic dramas …kids will tink that so nice to be in a relationship…haha…but now living in the internet age…hard to monitor.

                    Back to psle… good luck!

It happened in my DD school aswell last month, some children sharing sexual content in their whatsapp messages and texting till late night (2am). Informed the school teacher and restricted my DD phone though she is not at fault. what to do? No choice. But she understood that she should not be distracted with all these non sense and improve in her marks.
