Yes! For many parents 'B's are quite of disappointment. .

For PSLE, B grade is a disappointment becos the best is A*.

However for O and A levels, B grade is considered good becos the best is A.

You might want to go to their website http://www.touch.org.sg/volunteer and check it out. I think it doesn't have to be just during the hols. Even when the kids are in sec schs, they still can volunteer. The kids have to learn to step out of their comfort zone and not live in a bubble.

My daughter and her friends are counting down to the end not the start!

My DS is not taking PSLE but his Promo exams next week. He is more stressed than taking PSLE (that is what he told me becos during PSLE, he was very blur n cannot understand the fuss n anxiety that we parents have).


So parents don't worry so much abt PSLE, it's not meant to kill the 12 years old kids. It's just a first taste of our SG national exams.

Just give them your love n mental support.

You will have more worries when your kids go to Sec School/JC/Poly. But never mind, cross the bridge when you reach there.

I think the difference when they are older is that they are better equipped to cope with it and to manage their own studies. The challenge with PSLE, especially for my daughter, is that they are not emotionally mature enough to deal with the stress and many of them are not sensible enough to manage their own work so need a lot more support from us.
