I think the difference when they are older is that they are better equipped to cope with it and to manage their own studies. The challenge with PSLE, especially for my daughter, is that they are not emotionally mature enough to deal with the stress and many of them are not sensible enough to manage their own work so need a lot more support from us.
son has gone through psle, so I don't have to worry about him taking Os this year. it's really more like managing his moods and making sure he doesn't get burnt out.
with my younger one facing national exam for the first time, it's more worrying. -

My DS is not taking PSLE but his Promo exams next week. He is more stressed than taking PSLE (that is what he told me becos during PSLE, he was very blur n cannot understand the fuss n anxiety that we parents have).
So parents don't worry so much abt PSLE, it's not meant to kill the 12 years old kids. It's just a first taste of our SG national exams.
Just give them your love n mental support.
You will have more worries when your kids go to Sec School/JC/Poly. But never mind, cross the bridge when you reach there.

DD was really stressed out during the Prelims. As expected with stress, she did not do well although she passed all her subjects.
With the PSLE looming nearer and nearer, told DD to just try her best. If she really does not do well, PSLE is just one of the many hurdles in life. Don’t give up. Continue to persevere and work hard in secondary school.
All the best to all the Primary 6s. -
Note sure if it can help you, but I recite this each time whenever I have a major presentation or exam.:
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." - Frank Herbert, "Dune".
It helps to remind myself that fear is something that can destroy me only if I allow it to. -
Did anyone see the milo ad on PSLE? So touching…

When I saw the Milo ad, I just shook my head at the unrealistic portrayal that all the kids should be expected to get a psle score of 250, 260 etc. some of the kids shown look as young as primary 1 or 2…

I was very shocked the kids mentioned they have to get scores of 250. what kind of ad is this? what message is it sending? :slapshead: -
one kid says it all – good score goes good school leading better life.
but of coz there is no guarantee… lol -
