All About Full-Time Maids

Just let everyone know that I managed to get a fresh new indo maid 2 wks ago. The agency that I used is fairly new and initially I was really skeptical using such a fairly new maid agency. The boss proved me wrong and he was very patient to answer all my questions. Only thing is he was always late in picking up my maid for medical checks and MOM programme arranged for my helper. I do not know if his service will continue to be so nice after this maid loan is paid off but I must say at this moment, he did a good job. I am in no relation to this boss but giving my fair comments about his service during this period when we liaise.

I really like to know more about them too, are they frm near India/Nepal? I always wanted to try Nepalese cos I hv seen 2 nepalese that had good attitude but dnt seem to see agents bringing them in.

These days maids can just easily say out of their mouths they want to transfer/go back to agency.Is there any way employer can tackle or deal with these kind of situation.

Its not \"thesedays\" its been happening to me and loads of other employers for many years. I had my fair share of maids wanting to go back home,transfer etc.. ..I normally ask them why and refer back to the agent if they really want to leave. No point keeping a maid that is not happy

Maids can come up with many reasons if they want to transfer.The maids need not faced any consequences from asking transfer.By going back to the maid agency they can choose their desire employer.Agent also happy to earn from the maid and employer again

We used to have Pinoy domestic helpers when DS1 and DS2 were small. The longest one stay with us for few year, the shortest one a few days. There was a time where we kept changing helpers. And having terrible problems over it. But since stop having one after we moved to a smaller house 3 years ago. Now, we have a weekend helper who do the heavy duty work e.g. wash toilets, wipe windows etc. Otherwise the daily stuffs like wash clothes and dishes, sweep / mop floor are done by me and my spouse. At times we do quarrel over households chores, especially after a long hard day at work. But strangely we are "happier" now as expenses is lighter (domestic helper doesn’t come cheap), more privacy at home and less suspicious of having stranger at home. Though nowadays up to 3 tutors for the kids come to our house 4 times a week.


I guess I happen to belong to a small group where domestic helper is really optional for now. There will be some who need one e.g. care for elderly and young ones, busy parents etc. Guess have to go thru it all until we meet the domestic helper who can click with us.

If the worker is available to transfer immediately (some might have to wait till end of the month if current employer needs her help), and you already meet requirements (e.g. having already completed the EOP if employing domestic worker for the first time), the transfer can be done in 1 week.
