Dont mention it, Ngl2010. I have not seen a composition that scored 39 or 40 too. My boys rarely scored above 30 for compo.

P5 compo still hv 33 the highest -

DS has seen 40 for Chinese compo. It was written by a girl from China. The Chinese teacher showed it to the whole class. DS said the quality is extremely high. Even his teacher said she herself cannot write like that
I think I have read somewhere in this forum that a mummy who was previously a PSLE marker had given a few 40 score for English compo. I couldn't remember the mummy's name though. I hope some service providers can give us some samples here :please: -

Surely it depends on the teacher? Marking compo always has some subjectivity, and some teachers are more generous than others. When my daughter was preparing for PSLE while we were overseas, I sent a couple of her compos to a friend who was a teacher in a Pr school here (not one of the 'top' schools, but a mission school and very popular one in an HDB estate), and I think he gave her something like 38? But when she was in school in Singapore (one of the very popular schools), her compos received something like 32 from her teacher. How that compares with the actual PSLE marking, who knows?
