2016 PSLE Discussions (Born in 2004)

sleepy:
No one knows that girl's schedule. If only CL tuition once a week, I don't think will so easily get burned out because of that 1 to 2 hours of tuition lah
but PSLE is already over...at least take a short break.
i am only able to give mine here 2 weeks...because she tends to regress if she doesn't have any interaction with a language for a period of time. -
MyPillow:
yes...in order NOT to waste money and keep the brain cells working, i have planned for her to finish the remaining grammar & vocab titles.... And in order not to lose money, do finish all the Eng Comprehension and some Chi Comprehensions that
were bought for P6 / psle  -
Experienced parents with kids in Sec School, can I check … S1 exercise a week after PSLE release results… then after the posting results is out (around 3rd week of Dec), my understanding is that all students must report to the Sec school the following day. What do they do on that day? Frantic buying of uniforms and textbooks/study materials? Then just report to school on 3 January 2017?
Feeling a bit loss at the sudden "freeness", so would like to know the franticness coming up … haha -
First of all is registration. Register your child details to the school that’s posted. This will take a while because you need to queue-up for your child’s turn.
Followed by, buy books and uniform.
All the best! -

I asked dd to read two p6 resource books (brand new) before I gave those away. Kind of late to be reading after exam huh

but at least I feel slightly better - as if I get $1 back from each book :rotflmao:
She obliged me lah. Finished reading in 30 mins :skeptical: -
What The:
after the posting result is out and reporting to the secondary school for registration, school books and uniforms to be purchased on the same day. that's officially marks the end of primary school.Experienced parents with kids in Sec School, can I check ... Not sure if it's the same for all schools.Experienced parents with kids in Sec School, can I check ... For my daughter's school, we reported to the hall in the morning and found out which class she
was assigned to. She then sat with her class in a line, while the parents were seated at the back
of the hall. The Principal gave a speech. IIRC, there were also brief intro to the curriculum. After that,
the girls took turn going to the desk in front of the queue to complete the registration. They were given an
orientation pack with book list, various forms, first week schedule, etc.
After registration was buying of uniforms and books. If both parents are going to the registration, one could
actually skip the speeches and go buy the books before the crowd. For uniforms, it's best to wait for the
child to try on for size. -
BigDevil:
for son's school, we had to find his name to know which class he is allocated to, then sit in the hall according to his class. after registering with the FT, getting the booklist, then queue to buy his uniforms and PE attire. he has to try or else it will be troublesome to go back and change the size. one parent can get the books while the other buys the uniforms.
Not sure if it's the same for all schools.

For uniforms, we can actually go to the store and buy first right?
For booklist also, some schools already uploaded on website so just go buy at popular before reporting date?
Reporting date - just sit back and relax? Alternatively, can buy on some other days after registration right when there’s no Q?
I hate queues and would siam whenever possible.
That’s what I did for my child’s P1 registration/orientation -
IMp75,
I dropped you a PM the other day, on old books that can be passed to needy students.
Do le me know if it’s still avaialble
Let me know if possible.
