My child is expected to enrol in Year 1 in 2017. While the school fees are in general published to a certain extent, I can’t help worrying about other "incidental" costs and fees, especially after hearing anecdotes from other schools.

Can anyone share their experience on what is to come? Or what else could be possibly chargeable? Thank you so much.

The school fees for Singaporean is $300/mth, PR is $450/mth and on top of that, a $20 Supplementary fee. So net you pay $320 for Singaporean, $470 for PR.

If you have EESIS, you will pay only $300+$20-$200 = $120 net for Singaporean.

Other than that, there is no other charges except 1) fees for entry to various competitions which mostly will make use of Edusave, so you don’t have to fork out any cash unless your Edusave is insufficient and/or 2) overseas trips which most are heavily subsided.

For Y5 boarding, currently it’s $1,750/term before subsidy. Amount of subsidy depends on your income.

          Hope this helps.

Would like to find out if anyone staying in Bishan has confirmed taking up the CO from NUS High? My DS wanted badly to join NUS High but I am very concerned about the travelling distance and time.

Since NUS High does not participate on S1 posting, does it still have registration day/orientation day (e.g. buy books, uniforms, etc)? If yes, when is it usually held? Thanks

If a child did not manage to clinch a NUSH CO during the DSA exercise, can he still participate in the supplementary intake, or his chances will be very slim considering that he has been 'rejected' in the first round? Any success story so far, of those being 'rejected' during DSA but managed to get in via the supplementary intake? Thanks.

                  Hi FantasyLandDreams,

They are looking for A* in psle maths and science. Not sure if the chances thou, I’m sure it will be v competitive considering the small nbr if vacancies left.

                  Hi dagong,
Spoken to ds2, he said he will accept the co from the other school and move on. Maybe lack of confidence.

We're in Punggol. Have tried dissuading DS as it's very far but he's decided...

There will be a Matriculation Day (tentatively on 22 Dec based on school calendar) whereby the students will meet up with their Mentors and classmates, parents can join in too.

Most of the administrative matters such as setting up of GIRO for school fees, parents/guardians contact details, email and espace accounts for both students and parents will be made known during this time.

A stack of admin notes will be given which contains many useful information such as uniform and transport vendor, teachers and staff contacts.

You may want to purchase the uniforms separately by going to the vendor directly to avoid the crowd. As for books, NUSH does not have textbooks, except for MT which you can purchase elsewhere. Since it’s curriculum is very different from the norm, lecture notes will be used instead. The reference books are really optional since the notes are more than enough.

There will be a 3-day Orientation during the 1st week whereby the school welcomes the Y1s and Y3s.
