Jetsetter, I wonder why you are so curious about the forummers here as far as Mr Low is concerned and even did a 'research' on us. You can be a script writer but not a PI. You have gotten the facts wrong and you need to apologise to plmgs and plmgs parents for mentioning and dragging them into your story. If you can't trust me, please verify with crester who is a parent of nyjc.
From the above post, you attached a link which you mentioned might be posted by Mr Low. If it's true, I see Mr Low as a man with confidence and he is very assuring. :salute: No sign of being hurt. Anyway how is he to lead a jc if he's as 'soft' as you think?
Jetsetter, what exactly is your agenda? -
roborovski:
You need more 'brain juice' to understand, not my problem.
I am not trying to side anyone but EpicReborn is just a Secondary 4 student, 16 years old? Would you clarify second chance? And what has that got to do with NYJC? (is it a standard practice of all JCs)mindays:

Jetsetter, don't you think MOE should look into issues such as the above experienced by EpicReborn who should have been given a second chance?
Instead, you are 'threatening' parents here by bringing in MOE on an issue concerning the thoughts of ksp about possible changes to a school due to new appointment by MOE.
You are also belittling Mr Low's confidence in his leadership by exaggerating his feelings towards some comments posted in this thread and possibly underrating the emotional stability of nyjc staff.
My question is: Is it possible that none of the nyjcian parents are upset about the departure of Mr Kwek and totally embrace the new principal without a second thought? At least we are honest enough to express our doubts which Mr Low can assume as constructive 'criticisms' if he would ever visit this forum.
As much as you see that mindays have an interest over nyjc, I feel the same goes for you. Oh yes, you do. You have friends who know Mr Low personally. We all have some kind of connections or interests on things we support or oppose to.
Do give others space to voice their views.
Roborovski, I would appreciate if you can list your points in a more systematic manner instead of lumping them all. I feel that you seem to be using different ways to come to a centralised point. If you want to debate, do it with a more professional style. Thank you
To help you a little, I was referring to jetsetter's view that MOE should be concerned about forummers' views in this thread but I feel that MOE (if they have time to spare) should look into the plight of EpicReborn instead as he was denied a second chance, get it??
Don't bother to comment if you are too lazy to follow this forum through.
Are you trying to create more misunderstandings since you have no relation with nyjc, which I am not surprised?
You see, so your main point is that you have an issue with MOE (I think u came to the wrong thread). Let me clarify for you, your second chance refers to the \"act\" of giving students a chance who didn't take A.Math to pursue H2 Math. So back to the main issue, what has this got to do with Nanyang JC? That is what I am particular about! Why do you write such a statement in this thread? Don't bother to comment if you cannot understand the basic topic of this thread let alone having the rights to call me \"lazy\".
Okay, to help you out, you can email the relevant authorities to express your concerns. It is pointless to air it here.
And, what do you mean by a \"sign of welcome by the existing students and parents in this forum\" when this forum's target audience is parents (kiasu) and not students. Furthermore, I think that some of the people here tried to downplay NYJC by using the fact of principal rotation. They are not even parents of NYJC yet. -
Hi, I would like to know how nyjcians find the 2016 A level GP and Chemistry paper 2?
How well do you think the teachers have prepared you?
I would appreciate any input.
TIA. -
roborovski:
I shall retract this piece of comment I posted which is not appropriate. You have been very provocative in your tone and thus my response to you, mindays. And also to crester with your (literally) filthy language. :yikes:
Bear in mind that they are DSA students whose L1R5 are usually above the COP of NYJC. Such results are indeed not bad. On what basis do you mean by \"care too much\"? Were you part of the culture? Have you ever experience it before making such a statement? I agree that people like to speculate about things that are in trend, but please do not go overboard.mindays:
So NYJC only cares about attracting DSA pupils as it doesn't care to show any stats to the general public after the A-level result release.
Instead of stating 6 out of 10, it sure looks better with 3 in 5 secured > 78 rank points in the 'ad'. Frankly, it's not a result I would die for, especially after all the care efforts the poor teachers put in and also after the parents' collaboration in caring for their kids' schoolwork (another link).
In fact students of this age would prefer to be, should be or learn to be independent and work with teachers themselves instead of getting parents constantly involved, as if they are still in pri sch. But well, now I see that its nyjc unique chinese culture to care too much and risk being over-protective and suffocating the students.
:siam:
Wasn't intending to hit at nyjc at all.
What do you mean by provocative if you cannot justify a simple point? -
roborovski:
It looks like the pot calling the kettle black. Yes, Nil Sine Labore, Victorians will triumph the evil/.Gentle reminder, mindays. You have mentioned that you were from VJC. Really? In this case, please don't tarnish vjc image by posing to be an nyjc diehard defendant with your harsh tones and poor attitude to flip discussions into arguments. Otherwise you are doing a great disservice to vjc.
Peace :xedfingers: -
KTKS:
I don't think I have made any mistakes or ill remarks against anybody. In fact, I was clear to provide avenues of perspectives when you used phrases like \"guinea pigs\" to label prospective students. I felt that you didn't see the big picture of having new principals and hence made a post on it. If that's your definition of using strong words from page 23 onwards, then I shall rest my case and reserve my energy.
Thank you.mindays:
KTKS has apologised, let this matter at rest. I don't think we should escalate it further.
It's your turn and also Crester's to apologise to me and I shall let the matter rest too. Read through all the posts from page 23 if you cannot recall.
????
Ah well, I am a magnanimous parent so I will not bear grudges against the 2 of you.
mindays, don't use strong words to any member in future. You have a bad habit of turning nasty if others can't see eye to eye with you.
crester, refrain from calling people fools or use uncouth words.
If you think my contribution to this forum will adversely affect how others view nyjc, I am flattered. Have confidence in nyjc. I have a feeling that you are worried about its popularity and cop next year based on your earlier posts before pg 21. In addition, we parents can only advise our dc about jc choices but they will still have the final say. I am not ruling out the possibility that my dc may join his friends to choose nyjc. They will not consider things like caring culture or new leader. To them, friends are the most important.
Yes, I agree that Crester may be a little uncouth but I don't think his/her intention was to reprimand you. Don't take it to heart (you said that you are magnanimous), I hope. -
Btw as heard from my juniors there, they received their promos result slips yest.
Mr Kwek did confirm in his address that the new principal has agreed that current initiatives and measures will remain after he retire, and the direction of the college will not change, given a strong team of staff and students. He stated people is key Also mentioned is that NYJC, over the years had not, and will not publicly disclose academic performances extensively for the tendency to mislead parents and students. Idk the specifics but fm what my juniors mentioned is somewhat related to integrity or what (I didt follow up so...thats all I know bout dat).
So perhaps the way to know the academic performances shd be through direct contact with the school only I suppose. And parents I guess yall can be assured abt the new principal, at least for now.

Just being curious - why does NYJC give out the promo results slip so late when holidays have already started?
Is this the norm for NYJC? -

OIC. I thought all JCs close before A level exams start.
I am just wondering - why is NYJC different from other JCs?
Anyway, thanks for info.
