Results should be out 24 or 25 Nov. Managing expectations is very useful. But challenging as it goes against my other value which is to remain positive and you will get positive results...LOL!

This year, I suspect we will see some very big T-scores with some large variations. The \"bell-curve\" is likely going to be narrow what with the high level of difficulty of the Science paper and a Math paper that was not as easy as the last few years. Very anxiety-provoking moments indeed!

it's easier said than done if we want to manage expectations...TOUCHWOOD...accept my child's results whatever it may be and most importantly, she is happy and alive, not lying at the bottom of the flat.

mum has a friend who is a teacher. she told mum this year's psle will be tough because the last few years have been relatively easy.

My DS Sci tutor cautioned him during his prelims that PSLE would not be easy coz those who got into IP for the last 3 years(probably due to easier papers translated to higher t-score) were struggling in the program..So probably MOE tried to set things back to \"normal\"mode... šŸ˜“ That's why the more challenging paper :frustrated:

it makes sense...but it's stressful when the exam is tough and the kids are demoralized.

when i see her sleeping beside me every night, it pains me to know how stressed she has been for the past 2 years. during a recent medical review between her doctor and I, the doctor knew how stressed it would be nearer the release of the results and asked me what could be the worse that would happen, and most importantly do i want a happy child who knows her parents still love her for what she is and not the results?

I am sure your DD knows that you will always love her unconditionally...

I think if our child feels the same as the majority about the difficulty of the papers, then results should be ok bah? (majority means mean or median)....

I think my child is more concerned about departing the P6 class......they have been together for 3 years and it's gonna be a bitter-sweet experience on P6 graduation day next week.

For me, get into EXPRESS can liao....

Yes, the concerns and anxieties of a parent and child who has a DSA CO in hand are quite different from the rest who don't.

That's true .... Also mostly b/c dd was ill 3 out of 5 exams during psle......I was most glad the DSA offer came in handy in periods like this and I thought it (sickness) wouldn't happen to her. She was the only one who was sick and had to be kept separate from the rest of the folks during those 3 days.

It's really interesting the tutor would say that. Those who get into IP are the top 10% of the cohort and this is in spite of whether the papers are difficult or hard. PSLE as it stands pits the P6 students against each other. So easy papers may mean lowering and crowding of T-scores but I doubt it makes it easier for students to make it into IP.

From past PSLE exams, the biggest T-scores seem to come when there are harder papers and not the other way around. As papers get harder, the gaps between, the best/better/average and so on widen. So with the current way PSLE T-score is calculated, tough papers would likely tend to be in the favour of the very best students.
