Yes u can, what the bank wants to see is a cheque from another bank when u placed the fixed deposit.There's a lot of fixed deposits that require fresh funds to qualify for promotion
Lets say I have a bank account with Bank A. Bank A has a 1.8% promotion for fresh funds time deposit of at least $20,000 for 12 months. Can I withdraw $10,000 2 times from Bank A on 2 different dates, transfer to Bank B, and withdraw from Bank B to Bank A for the fresh funds time deposit promotion?
They don't trace the movements of the funds, so u don't need to transfer $10,000 twice on different dates, just do a single withdrawal of $20,000 will do. -

Any CNY promo for FD? I remembered a few banks were throwing in abalone as free gifts early this year.
