Hi, what will be the impact on the results if the kid drops the 3rd language subsequently? Will it be viewed unfavourably? Thanks!

Not sure if the policy is the same for all schools but my Ds sch policy is if one does not want third lang to be computed in the sch year end results, withdrawal from the course needs to be completed by a certain timeline eg a month before end of year third Lang paper (this is an eg, pls go check out as I leave it to my Ds and not sure of the details.

Hi, may I know what happens if the selected 3rd language from cat 3 is oversubscribed? Will MOE allocate another language within cat 3 for the child? Thanks!

You will be allocated to your next choice subject to vacancies. If you put nil, then no third lang. I think we put same for all three options as we were not keen on any others.

Hi jedamum, that means if we want only cat 3 languages, we have only one shot at it right? Since we can only choose 1 language from each cat? We are not keen in other cat. Thanks!

I have always wondered why MOE takes more than a month to publish the Sec 1 posting results. Any computer can churn out the results in an instant…

You must understand that computers must still wait for humans to mull over and type in their choices. And there could be exceptions in the processing that may require human intervention. Unfortunately, humans don't work nearly as fast as computers can.

It doesn't take that long, they just don't want us to have time to appeal.

I can't remember that can only choose one from each cat. I only remember that allocation is by merit. I also didn't find out if choice makes any difference. I feel just put the ones you like rather than the one you feel have more chance (unless you are ok with any of your chosen), as it is not easy to continue without interest.

Not sure if I am of any helpp.
