Lucky for me, my 2 nephews do not have younger siblings, so I won’t

need to do that for her again.

As for my young one who will be taking PSLE in 2019, we will just accept
whichever school he is posted to. If he’s not good enough, he’s not good enough.
      Why force your way in?

U can return the favor her loh... Book a trip soon & dun come back until after 22/12

children's education at stake. i don't think i will be able to enjoy the holiday by leaving everything to someone else...not that i don't trust the person but i would feel at ease to get it done personally.

this uncle so sweet...took leave to report on behalf of his nephews only for his sister to appeal :slapshead:

          hi

does anyone know what was the minimum score to be eligible for Express/Normal(Academic) this year ?
my dd got 187 and it was for Normal(Academic), hence she was not able to apply for Express. just curious that how many marks she lacked to have Express/Normal(Academic).

I thought 200 has always been the minimum score to enter express?

some affiliated schools 188. for some with no affiliation, it's 200.
my daughter got 161 posted to Normal Academic...she was very disappointed but i am happy because it is a big improvement from prelims. work hard next year, your daughter can still make it to express.

... In the end, it was this uncle who had to take leave and report to the 2 different Sec Schools (one in

the East, the other in Central) on behalf of the 2 nephews. Then traveled to 4 other schools to submit
                appeals. :slapshead:
Wah... you good uncle leh. :salute:

                    Hi,
                    Above 200 - express
                    188 to 199 - ex / n (a)
                    160 to 187 - n (a)

I have always wondered why MOE takes more than a month to publish the Sec 1 posting results.

Any computer can churn out the results in an instant ......

because MOE doesn't just process your child's application, only, from the moment a child receives his / her PSLE results slip, until receiving announcement news of Secondary school posting.

there are thousands of P6 students and parents out here : who need time to figure out & to consider carefully what their 6 choices of Sec schools are going to be, since is going to impact them, for the next 4 or 6 long years ahead of them.

you can see how many parents been posing qns in this forum, asking feedback about this Sec school, or that school. Many parents not sure which schools to choose. All these, definitely need time to go through one by one, carefully

It should be really easy to compute the Sec 1 posting results once the 6 choices are submitted by 30th Nov. With the database of the 38,000+ submissions, an intermediate Excel programmer can use the not too complex functions of VLOOKUP, IF, etc to get the results out, literally in an instant.

But it makes sense that they release it late to make appeals difficult......

A simple program with the pre-determined criteria could assign the schools to each of these 38,000+ students instantly but a human being needs to analyse the posting results performed by the computer program. What are the COP for schools? If out of 200 students with the same COP, only one student gets into that school, then maybe we should also remove that one student from that school too. If only 10 students got assigned to this school only, then maybe we should move these 10 students to their next school choice and do not assign any students to this school....and so on. There are issues to consider other than just assigning a sec school to each of the 38,000+ students. I do not think releasing the sec school posting results late to make appeals difficult is a rationale.
