Mine will take the DT line to Stevens and walk in. Hubby and him went to recce the route a few days ago. Takes about 30min or so for their entire journey from doorstep to school gate (both of them are fast walkers, unlike me).

I was thinking before term starts, I will get him to bring me on the route again, and we would take the bus back in case the MRT breaks down in future and he knows how to get home.

It will be good for our sons to learn how to take public transport as it is a useful lifeskill. There should be a good number of boys walking from the MRT so they would have \"company\". Of course we would fetch him if the timing is good, or when he stays back very late. Eg first day of school is 830am, so we will prob drop him before going to work. :boogie:

Any parent can advise for the guitar ensemble cca, is it meant for those who already can play the guitar well?

Most likely have to go for selection or audition for guitar ensemble ECA.

May I ask how much allowance to go per day?

I think $8 to $10 per day would be a good gauge. Normally DS would take lunch from school then go home.

Next yr son Sec 1, do u pick him up fm sch to go home or let him take train home?
                      We stay in woodlands.
My hub say let him take train home but I just heartache lo. (I wan to pick him up cos doesn't wan him too tired) :?
Usually morning they need to be in school on time so normally would send them there. Return trip would be on their own as they would stay back complete their homework or stay for ECA.
Had did some recee in which DTL Stevens walk to the school Main Gate (38 Malcom Road) is around 750m. If we take reference of Tanglin CC then is around 450m.
