My dd admitted she has been lazy during sch hol. She says she cant wait for school reopen and life gets busy again.

when school reopens, i will have more ME time and even stretches till 2+ or even 4pm on days with CCA.
holidays are good, but too much of it will cause the bodies and brains to go cold and become lethargic.
fortunately daughter still has tuition once a week, or else everything would be returned to her primary school when sec 1 begins.

But then again, that means more space for Secondary Syllables

DS2 has been vegging most of the hols. It reckon it's good for him cos once school re-opens...it's full steam ahead.

He got a new fitbit and has been running around trying to clock more steps and shed some of the extra weight he has gained during the hols.

I wanted him to get started on his Lit book but sadly, his book list had none! I was disappointed as it's my fav subject and I get to read the book too ๐Ÿ™‚

Errr actually I was just joking, if she throw everything back to her primary school, then she will have more space for Secondary Syllables...

                    Janet,
Can you please share how you work with the kids for History? Apart from the textbook, which other books, magazines or web sites do they refer to? How do you help them make notes and revise for History?

i get a history assessment book which gives an introduction which summarizes the entire topic.
as an adult when i flip through the textbook, it is like a storybook but the child doesn't get any idea what is tested, but with an assessment book, it will ask questions like, 'what is history? why do you study history?' what are artefacts and what does that imply?' these questions are tested for tests/exams.
there are 2 publishers - Wiseman & GLM. both have MCQs, short questions and inference questions.
