Paper 1 is about general awareness of issues that impact us all. Until 2012, it was easy to spot question types. Examiners saw copy-paste essay scripts and hence departed from the 2003 to 2012 question types. As long as a student flips through the newspaper, reads some articles on CNN, BBC, Guardian and The Economist, they should be able to answer the question. Scoring in the subject depends on articulation of ideas, being convincing and showing conviction.

        Hi,

Is the new Eunoia JC going to take in O level students after the release of O level results later in this month?

Thanks emoh. Does it mean that the rest of JCs like VJ, NJ, NYJC etc will be slightly easier since a new JC opens up for more vacancies?

I don’t think anyone is able to predict the COP accurately. Based on the special programmes offered by Eunoia JC, she is definitely in a good position to vie with NJC/ VJC/ NYJC/ ACJC. However, no one could predict her popularity with the students. One thing for sure is that the 2017 J1s are the dragon babies, so there should be sufficient students to uphold the COPs of the popular JCs.

Difficult to predict though JAE intake is quite small

Does any JC have a policy to curb excessive time spent on CCA? My son will be entering JC2 this year. Last year, he spent too much time on his CCA because he was the captain. His results were dismal. Any JC has a policy to stop CCA activities if the captain has poor grades? Or does anyone's child also faces this issue? May have to write in to the Principal soon. :faint: :faint:

If I am not wrong, JC2 students will step down from June onwards to concentrate on their A levels.

it's the norm for JC students to be heavily involved in their CCA activities so don't fret.

                        😄
