Yes! I intent to drag my dearie to go along with me too.....even though he has already set his mind on which sec school to go. Apparently he is all ready and I am not.

It's still early and kids change their minds all the time. Would be good to bring him along to 'open up his mind' a little to other available options.

Just to share, a few years ago, a friend's DD had set her heart on a certain secondary School A since start of P4. She is academically strong, so getting into her then dream school was never an issue. Then, come first half of P6, she went along with another classmate to School B Open House. It was a 'just to keep her friend company' kind of visit. At the end of the visit, she was so impressed by the school that she opted to go to School B instead.

 yeah! I hope so too.....

          Hi,

Anyone here send your kids to writing class? Any recommendations?
I think my DD needs help in writing. She needs to learn to write a decent compo.
          TIA!

I had the same issue with my DS when he was in lower primary. I decided to sign him up for creative writing class at the start of P4 and he improved tremendously as he was taught systematically the structure to write a composition (something that his school English teacher was unable to impart to him). After 1 year, he was one of the better writers in his class (as confirmed by his English teacher). His confidence in compo writing grew by leaps and bounds, thanks to his dedicated creative writing teacher. Now my DS is in secondary school, the compo writing/thinking skills learned are still very useful for his English subject.

If you are keen, pm me and I will share with you the contact.

Hi, can pm me the contact too? Thanks alot.

                Hi all,

Is any of your kids goes to any science enrichment centre? Any good recommendation? I am quite caught by the science topics on private parts of the body in P5 science. I remember my times we don even have this in P5? Isnt it biology?

For wrong spelling of key words, will any mark (half mark or 1m) deducted, according to new PSLE sc marking scheme?

I am not too sure about PSLE marking system and so I take the worse scenario which is minus 1 mark.

When my boy was in P4 and he made careless mistake in the spelling, the teacher deduct 1 mark.
