Yes you are on track...anything he can naturally express himself will let him gain confidence in his show and tell.Hi Ks2me and blurbee,

Wonder what will the teachers be looking for in the Show and Tell?
Contents of the script?
Confidence level of the child?
Grammer, vocab?
I can forsee that my ds will babble in Singlish instead of English halfway thru the Show and Tell. . :slapshead: -
my ds has gone thru 2 show and tell for both chinese and english. I feel its best to prepare the scripts as early as possible and get them to memorise it, remember to add in some actions for liveliness.

I think generally, "g" is pronounced with a soft sound "j" when there is "e", "i" and "y" as in "gem", "giraffe" and ""gypsy". The hard sound is like "girl" such as "good" and "gracious".
Likewise, "c" is pronounced with a soft sound "s" when there is "e", "i" and "y" . Eg "cereal", "circle" and "cycle". The hard sound is "k" as in "cat" and "carry". -
I have posted photos from my girl's P1 English workbook here :
http://tamarindphonics.blogspot.com/2010/04/what-to-expect-in-primary-one.html
The work was done in term 1. Just curious how is her school's standard compared to others ? -
My daughter is attending a P1 preparatory class for Eng/Math at RC. She has either spelling for Eng or Maths alternate week. The worksheets she does at RC roughly give us a feel what she should know. Her kindergarten uses a learn-thru-play method.
She has spelling and is more confident now.
Tamarind,
I read your link…thanks for posting and providing so much advice.
I find it strange why P1 kids are not allowed to bring the story books home from school. The passage is not easy for a P1 kid.
