Those who have PE on Friday are luckier as Fridays are dressed-down days where the boys can come in half U, ie khaki pants with PE, Class or CCA tshirts.

A question for parents of Sec 3 and 4 students in HCI. Do you have any idea if it is possible for a student to change his CCA in year2? DS and his classmates were all allocated to CCAs that are not their first choice. After a year of trying, DS and one of his classmate (in the same CCA) felt that the CCA is not suitable and would like to change to something that they want, e.g. clubs. Does any parent have any idea what is the success rate of changing in year 2?

Have not heard of boys changing CCAs so far. Perhaps very few. The boys probably must have very good reason to justify their request. The best person to check with is Mr Tok AL.

HCI's explanation is that other than iSparks, the other 3 consortiums are randomly distributed. Our observation as parents is that it seemed to be random such that one year, there may be more DSA sports students in Aphelion, and the following year, there may be more of such in Ortus, etc. There is no ranking of consortiums in HCI. Each consortium has its own resources but all the students will sit for the same mid year and year end exams.
Hi AllMaple leaf:
Kinowing iSparks is for GEP and high calibre mainstream, may I check how are the rest of students allocated to the 3 consortiums? I do not think it is solely random? Is it by languages proficiency? DSA? Maths/ Science Proficiency? Heard all DSA are allocated to ProEd?
Not sure but ProEd seems to be for DSA sports.
It is not true that the DSA sports goes to Pro-Ed consortium only. My son and his 3 other friends are also in DSA sports but they are in Alphelion. In fact both of them are in the same class.
So I think it is random. Or maybe results based too ?
Hope it helps. -
Does HCI has free wifi services for the boys in the school compound? Just checking before I decide on the plan for his mobile. Is data plan really required in HCI or will simple sms and call suffice? So far he has been using only sms and call, then hook up to whatsapp/ internet when he have wifi at home.

So far, the parents in my class let their boys share their data plan. For me, i just get a singtel prepaid card for him, top up $15 for him every month where he can use $10 to get 1Gpbs of data. The rest of the credits can be used for calling home or sort. and for unused data quota, it can be rolled over if you top up in time

What do you mean \"share their data plan\"? As if his classmates let him have \"hotspot\" to their data plan?Oh My Gosh:

As if his classmates let him have \"hotspot\" to their data plan?
In some telco plans, you can pay an additional sum of money to share the data in your mobile plan. For instance, if yours is the old 12GB plan, you can just pay a sum of money to the telco and then share the data with him. For mine, cos my plan is 3GB, not enuf for me at times, so i get him prepaid card instead.wanxuan75:
