lexis, hehe no more Tingxie Moxie! yay!
My son (in Year 4 now) always says Year 1 is quite senang.. haha. enjoy it!
Thanks for replying.
So I also sanang,no need to practice with him anymore.yay!
So which year will be more stressful for them?
I was quite surprised that they only do History and Geography for half year each.Kind of like module-based.I was unsure we make the right choice by not choosing the older schools which are module-based.But now, what a relief.
But now DS seems to be happy to know that if he worked hard and do well for the 3 terms of Sciences, need not take final year Science Exam? -
Year 3.. haha. starts to get siong. partly cos that's also when they rise to leadership positions in their CCAs. But by then. they are on their own, so you will still be senang (esp if they go to Boarding, which i highly recommend). haha.
Yup. i think for certain subjects you will get exempted from EOYs if your MSG is constantly 1 for all the term tests. For Math, i think it must be a high A1 though, not just A1 - cos i think many boys get A1. -

He didn't know Maths is one of the subjects. So you mean there is a curve for all the subjects?
If DS senang, I can ask him coach his younger sibling just like yesterday, give tingxie, CL comphre , and 1 Maths qn.
Hopefully,he continue to cooperate.

Not a curve. A1 is 75 and above, but for Math (in my sonβs year) 75 will not get you an exemption for math paper. I think you needed an 80, or 80+ (raw score).
For ELL and History, 75 could get exemption (in his year). -

pinkpinkmumz:
Can I check for cca trials, do they just go and attend the trials according to the trial schedule on the school website or do they have to book or something?
No need to book, just go down to attend the trials. -
Maple leaf:
If the system has not changed, you will need to get A1 for ALL the 3 term tests, plus an average of 80 marks to be granted exemption.
