Interesting....to read so many dicsussions on Uni in this thread....
Imp75:
Yes, can ... BCC still can get u into NUS FASS...one of my gal's schmate was offered last year...( of coz, it can vary fr yr to yr)...My time Biz Ad in NUS was like ABB min. No offence but Arts was pretty easy to get in in those days eg BCC. Now I think not anymore.
As per last year, i read in another forum where posters were mainly A level/ Poly kids applicants...they updated that FASS sent out mass counter offers to them whereby they had already received the NUS rejection letters 1-2 weeks ago...
As closer to the closing date of application (1 st June)... the Local Unis would roughly know how many applicants already accepted their offers...n how many vacancies they have left...thus from the above observation, it seemed that the quota for FASS wasnt filled ??
I suppose this could be the reason why they sent out counter offer letters juz before the closing date... -
jetsetter:
Havok_ex was specifically referring to EEE course...which takes in a big cohort....( Not all Engg courses)...
Now, DDD can get into NTU Engg, so said havok_ex (his sibling).
Other Engg courses which arent appealing to locals, like Mech n Civil also hv very low IGP/Rank points...
But Top pupils who like Engg would like to gun for Renaissance Engineering & Aerospace Engg...which require AAA ....Oh, btw, i know of a girl who is taking Aerospace Engg...Cool decision !!! -
Imp75:
quite versatile .......can go into banking, accounting, teaching, marketing, biz devt, sales, writers....
MrsKiasu:
BIZ students would need to choose their areas of specialization in their 2nd yr...Only the 1 st yr, modules are General...Any worries of being too versatile arh?

NTU ACC, iirc, most of the yrs in 2000s has alwys been AAA...my time - AAA to medicine and Law
Accountancy (NTU) - min AAB.....
My sister's time (2000s) - Accountancy (NTU) is min AAA
In Recent years, there is a slight dip in their rank point...( Rank point cut- off is more accurate than IGP) ...
The main reason behind it is becos NTU introduced DDP ( Double Degree) in ACC + BIZ...which then opens up more vacancies for ACC ... -

U mean Chemcial Engg or Civil Engg ?? Chemical Engg COP is still high though...

[/quote]I mean civil. Chem is a small cohort (relative to the other Engg courses), guess that's the reason why it has maintained a high COP.
