Dear P1 Registration in 2017 parents,


Thank you for your strong interest in West Spring Primary School.

We've been receiving queries from some of you and would like to address them here for the benefit of other parents as well:

1. Like in the past 2 years, there'll be no Open House. Doing so, it will take up the time of our teachers and staff attending to this event and distracts students from their learning when parents walk round during the school tours. We would want our teachers to focus on quality teaching and learning in school for our students.

2.There'll be another new publicity video which is currently being produced to reflect the latest holistic school programmes. Not only our well-known Purposeful Learning Activities for the Young (PLAY) programmes will be featured, but also our latest endeavour on Science, Technology, Engineeering & Maths (STEM) programmes, to prepare our students for a strong start to secondary school.

Character education is also one of the key focus areas of our school as we believe children must be anchored very strongly in values from a young age. We also partner strongly with parents to bring out the best in their children. Do look out for this latest video likely to be launched in May.

3. Parent Volunteer Scheme (PV) for P1 registration exercise in 2017 has already closed. PVs need to apply the year before the intended year of registration for your child.

4. Many of the parents of children from the MOE Kindergarten@West Spring have chosen to continue their child's primary school education@West Spring as a familiar environment certainly helps a child ease in effortlessly to a much bigger primary school environment.

Do note that there is no priority given to MOE Kindergarten@West Spring children to enter West Spring Primary.

5. Over the past years since its inception, West Spring has attracted over-whelming P1 registration applicants. We've thus increased the number of P1 classes to 8 with effect from the year 2014 to meet the high demand.

6. Our school website is currently under-going a revamp by the vendors. This means that we've not been able to update any form of new information on the website. We anticipate the vendor completing the work by the middle of this year.
