congratulations to ur DS for getting into the euler program!DS has been selected for the Euler programme. He enjoys Maths and reads Maths books for fun so I am happy for him. However I can't help feeling a bit apprehensive as the curriculum will be more challenging and the grade obtained will affect the grade point for Maths. Would appreciate if someone could share their ds' experience in the programme.
Btw, there are rgs girls in the Maths club too!
my DS benefited from this program too. Like ur son, he enjoys all things math and taught himself through books prior to RI. Through euler classes, he was in the company of similar people who shared their knowledge and spurred each other to greater heights. Euler students may find the normal curriculum repetitive or the pace not quick enough or the scope and depth insufficient. My DS found euler tests and exams to be fun and exciting events. I hope ur DS will enjoy euler too! -

There should be a briefing prior to the commencement of the Euler Programme so your DS will be able to know more about it after the briefing. -

It says in the handouts given \"...they will participate in intensive competition training, research and exciting Maths enrichment programmes\" and my ds pointed out to me that the key word here is \"exciting\". I hope my ds will find euler tests and exams fun too! Is it too much to hope that he will find ALL tests and exams fun as well?

My DS is in Y1 and am trying to plan my June holidays. Was told at the academic briefing that they boys will have 2 weeks of "free" time during the June and Dec holidays. Is there a definite period of free time or it depends on the CCA and whether the boy has remedial lessons ?

I would like to find out from parents here. What do prefects do? Do they organise activities (like Student Councillors), or more like uphold discipline (book ppl for infractions).
Also, is it true that once you are a prefect, you cannot (or will be less likely) be selected for leadership positions in your CCA?

No definite period, depends on CCA and remedial. Most CCAs will try to either use the first week or the last week for CCA. Remedial almost always in week 1. Best to check with teachers.Hi parents,

My daughter is in the JC section, but I recall the principal saying at the Y5 briefing last year that as a school policy, they don't have activities in the 2nd and 3rd week of the June holidays. Still, it's best to check with the individual CCA if there's anything special on during that time.

At Y14, prefects do a mix of both, enforcing discipline and also planning some school events and match supports. Not sure if such a regulation exists, but I do know of prefects who were also CCA leaders.Hi,

In DS batch (current Y4), some prefects are also CCA leaders. However, none of prefects Exco is holding any CCA leadership.

May i know does the running for prefect starts in Y1 or Y2?
