Cherie Hearts

@ DYJH
My baby girl is 10 months now and she is in Cherie hearts @ Mountbatten. She was inside since she is 2 months old and i can tell you she loves going to IFC. Every day i pick her up she is smiling and i personally pro IFC because i feel that my baby learn more things there. Initially for the 1st few months, sleep is priority but when they grow, they sleep lesser and the teachers can sing songs to them, read storybook and etc. I faced the same problem when i was preggie when i have no one to look after my baby and my hubby refused to engage a maid as he is not comfortable with "another person" at home. The teachers there are also friendly and my baby loves them.
The cons will be i find the infant care rates too expensive, i am paying nearly $1k every month after subsidy. And when your baby is in IFC, they will be exposed to virus, germs and etc and they tend to fall sick easily. My gal starts to fall sick when she turns 6 months and she starts to fall sick every month, then becomes bi-weekly.
I hope my opinion helps! -

After a while, their immume system will build up. Alternatively, find an infant with low rati.@ DYJH

@DYJH:
Few days back I was with my cousin and we dropped by this very new air-conditioned childcare centre (not CH though) that was inside SAFRA Toa Payoh enquiring on childcare vacancy for Nursery class.
Nevertheless we did saw that they have infant care service also at around same price inside their brochure and the ratio seems low, not many infants inside from view outside. Yet the infant space is very spacious & clean. I think maybe you can go check out the environment there if you live nearby. Hope it helps, Cheers!

To anyone who wants to know bout cherie hearts @ namly avenue. For the location & students that attends this place. It’s actually not that bad. Clean enough & non neighbourhood students. Teachers seems ok. Not bad neither excellent.
But it’s run by incompetent owners. Lack of communication. Example - calling the school is directed to their mobile phone. Which most of the time they are not even in the school! Yes, no receptionist!?! Communication book is not always in the bag. So if you have enquiry or last min changes - good luck. Bus driver, admin work has to go through the Owners. everything is done by them. It’s ok if they are doing it on time and efficiently. But most of the time, I have to keep bugging them for an answer.
As you read this on, the school may not even be around anymore! Because they did not manage to secure their lease. -
Dear mummies, am new to this forum. I'm moving to buangkok green soon and is considering MMI or Cherie Hearts CC at northstar. any new couples moving to buangkok green too?
my baby is currently coming 5 months old

Hi bebejade,
Look elsewhere, not advisable for Cherie Hearts @ Northstar. MMI and other better ones out there and around!
Cons:
- you can never reach the school tel # and it always goes to a mobile phone and not answered!
- poor communication, lacking between teachers and parents.
- couldn’t careless attitude and environment. Couldn’t bothered to call and ask - if your kid did not turn up, to check if anything happened, or follow up call to even ask how your kid is? The feel is - you come, good, don’t turn up, so what?
- lack of warmth and care environment.
- activities done on worksheets / drawing paper all left blank…nothing done…don’t bother to even get the kids to complete or work on it!
- more into money making, commercialized.
Having been to other center…this place really is not worth the money, time and MORE importantly…don’t let your kid suffer mentally and pychologically in such places.
That said, one place differs from another, under the same Company. Some other centers at other locations are far off better than this Northstar. So…you can still try out the other Cherie Hearts, and totally different childcare centers around your area!
Most importantly, bring your son and hubby along to feel the environment, during the school time (where children & teachers are in the class), to see for yourself and feel for yourself how the teachers handle/manage and react to the kids, how the kids behave and react to the teachers, how the principal manage the place, as well as not forgetting, the "Aunties/helpers" too!
Good luck and wishing you to have a smooth ride in finding and placing your little angel in the best care! -
@Warner_lies
on the point above "more into money making, commercialized":
my gal is in k1 at cherie hearts depot road. recently we received a note, informing us to buy 4 sets of new uniforms for $100.
since playgroup 1 & 2, to nursery and now k1, my gal has accumulated 10 sets of uniform, i.e. 5 x t-shirt and shorts set + 5 x dresses. each day will start off with the dress in the morning, and will change into t-shirt and shorts after mid-day shower. my gal has not hit the growth spurt so the dress is still well over her knees, and all are still in good condition, i.e. not torn, no discolouring, logo clearly visible.
so it’s very disturbing to be told to purchase new uniforms again when:
a. she’s going to only wear them for 1 year (k2),
b. all her current uniforms are functional, and
c. there is no change in company ownership!
when asked, the childcare management says this is a "HQ direction", and no waiver for k1-going-k2 children. here we are, parents teaching our children the value of prudence, while their education tells them otherwise. $100 is not a material amount. it’s the principle that matters to me.
I am still waiting for a response, and a credible one, from the "HQ" for this "direction". meanwhile, does parents with children in cherie hearts childcare centres elsewhere in Singapore have the problem? -
My comments never send your kids to Cherie Hearts @ Depot... They claimed my kid fell down himself (which I don't believe) causing a permanent facial scar on forehead and they don't sent your child to hospital during emergency when my kid asthma attack (moderate severe to severe). Very angry, given them 1 chance already... And these 2 incidents happened within a year. Had transferred him to another childcare and complain mcys (early childhood development), they will follow up with investigations. Put your kid there at your own risk.

From the forum posts, it looks like pats and mindchamps are all raising fees very soon. I’m sure parents who believe that paying the most equals to getting the best will continue to support the business owners of mindchamps and pats.
For those parents who are going for value-for-money quality childcare services, which i think most cherie hearts parents are, are there any specific centres which are raising fees next year? -
ConcernedDaddy:
The government refuse to control hence schools are raising fees wherever they want. Like I called mindchamps Zhongshan which is a new centre and they are also charging about $1400 after subsidy. The three left over centres that has no GST, next jan will also charge GST.From the forum posts, it looks like pats and mindchamps are all raising fees very soon. The more affordable ones like little school house Pcf, etc does not seem to have much standards. Learning vision is so expensive as well. After I asked them, they say this and that enrichment must add on.
What is the world becoming...
