      Hi all,

I will be attempting FRSM Teaching Diploma by ABRSM next year. As part of the requirement, I will need to write a thesis on a chosen topic of mine. For this purpose, I have decided to research the factors leading to failures or borderline passes for Grade 8 and Diploma exams. I will also conduct case studies to research various ways to help these students achieve a successful resit or a higher level exam.

There are two things I need to do that I wish to help seek from this forum.

I am looking for Grade 8 and Diploma students who have failed or scored borderline passes for their exams, borderline passes being defined as not more than 5 marks from the passing marks. The exams should be taken within the duration of May 2016 to Mar 2017. If you or your child is one, I will like to accept you into my studio to teach you for at least a duration of half a year, preferably for an immediate resit of the exam, but this is voluntary. I will give 4 FREE lessons, and afterwards the rest of the lessons will be charged at 50$ per lesson for the remainder of the half year. I normally only give this special rate to really promising students in my studio, so this is a rare opportunity to study with me for not a lot of money.

If you or your child is a student I described above but do not wish to learn with me, I still would like to conduct an interview with you to discuss about the exam. I will give $10 NTUC voucher for your trouble.

Please PM me if you are interested in any of the above. If you or your child are not any of the above, I am still accepting students, but my usual rates will apply. My website is http://www.charleswupianostudio.com if you want to find out more about me.

My website is due for upgrading very soon and the schedule is currently outdated, but for those interested, I recently opened a new teaching point at Eastpoint Cristofori on Monday. There are still a lot of slots available there. My wife is also teaching at our place and the teaching points I use, so if you want a cheaper and female option, please don't hesitate to ask me about it also.

Yes, the group theory lesson will be available in all my teaching locations. It will run for 12 lessons spread over a period of 4 months. As for the fees, for those interested, it will be $35 per hourly lesson payable every 6 lessons with a maximum of 2 people in the class. Will post further details once I begin the enrolment next month.

                1. 2nd prize winner of Cristofori Piano Competition 2009
                2. Finalist at 2011 National Piano & Violin Competition
                3. DipABRSM (with distinction) and LRSM (with distinction) holder
                4. Music director of RI(JC) Piano Ensemble back in JC

                7. All students that I've taught have attained at least a merit

I conduct lessons from my home at Whampoa (nearest MRT - Novena/Boon Keng) but I'm willing to travel to students' homes if they're conveniently located.

Feel free to drop me a message at 9178 5243 if you're interested!

                      Hi there,

Anyone has Lobang. I'm looking for a female piano teacher to teach my 8 yrs old girl.( Serangoon estate).

Check out pianojazzy who \"owns\" this thread. She's an accomplished piano tutor who has a site called:
                      http://www.pianolessons.multiply.com/

I think you have to send your kid to her home @ the Katong area.

                      Hi ChiefKiasu,

Not sure if pianojazzy's site still active? Tried clicking the thread but server not found. Can re-share the thread again?

                      Thanks!
